Lectures are pretty much based on supplementary materials such as videos and documentaries. One MT essay, Two essays for final. Attendance is mandatory but you don't really learn anything. He talks so slowly and uses sophisticated vocab but his ideas get lost in translation.
Prof Zulueta has amazing lectures. He's very passionate about his courses. Class is only Midterm & Final blue books, that's it. If you're good with blue books, take it! Or if you're interested in learning about As-Am. His classes will change your perspective and they are worth it. Lots of readings!
Really hard grader with a lot of reading. He will give you the test questions in advance.
Wasn't a hard class, and lecture was always engaging and interesting. Zulueta was nice/funny guy and very clear about what was expected of us. Midterm and final questions were provided in advance, and were tested in in-class essays. Most readings aren't necessary. Got a lil boring towards the end, but mostly because there wasn't much more to say.
HE IS AMAZING!!! He is more than happy to help you outside of class during office hours and is patient and elaborate if you are ever confused (I literally always was). He's honestly super chill and, yes, the readings can stack up, but it's very doable and his lectures really help clarify things. He is fair and ultimately wants everyone to succeed!
Very nice guy and a good orator. Approaches sensitive topics without being a over politically correct wuss. Grades tough on your writing but I guarantee you'll be a better writer after. Do not, I repeat do not buy the textbook. Also its possible to not do most of the readings and still common sense your way thru the essays. I got an A.
Very nice approachable teacher. Always available after class if you have any questions and goes out of his way to make sure he remembers students. Course readings are easy. Grades hard on the first essay but only because he expects you to improve. overall, interesting and easy class.
super nice teacher. need to atend class, takes role. do the reading he says to do the day before in class. tests are just essays but questions are given prior to test. likes you to talk alot in class!!
Participation is 30% of your grade, so you better speak up often and go to office hours. You must read the readings or else you'll fall behind and not do well on the midterm or final (which are both in-class essays). Zulueta is a really nice guy though. He's helpful and friendly, but grades HARD.
Easy going and approachable teacher. A lot of class discussions. But his questions for essays/tests seem unorganized and messy. You try to answer them but you might end up in a bad grade with a "didn't follow directions" to his already difficult explanation on answering them. So its tricky. VERY hard grader. Counts attendance.
