Rather difficult class. Unless you're great at math, you'll probably need extra help.

Excellent Professor. He's young, enthusiastic, and extremely helpful. If you do your work the class should be easy. There's also a generous curve. Great class.

The first couple of weeks weren't too hard but the middle of the course does get challenging. he is very helpful during office hours though

Rigorous intro compsci course. Forces you to work hard, but you will learn a lot. Labs are challenging but interesting, HW is easy, exams are reasonable. Gives a generous curve with final grades.

A pretty cool guy since he is still young. the tests are decent and labs are doable if you put some time into it.

Very good professor. He's always willing to help but he gives a very rigorous class for an "intro class" to better prepare you for later compsci classes. His tests can be pretty difficult, but he gives easy curves so it makes up for it. Homework is a joke, labs are challenging but doable

Nice guy, but he's really full of himself. He's young, so will improve with time. With regards to putting questions on tests that weren't covered, it's very true. Even though they weren't impossible, it's stupid to do so much of something in lecture, discussion, and homework, and then something completely different on test.

Engaging and clearly cares about his teaching. Very clear on concepts. People mentioned how he's unfair because he puts stuff on the midterm that he didn't teach; but he doesn't really do that; people just didn't review very well, or they don't know calculus very well. It shows that you DO need a strong background in calc to do well in the course.

He is a very enthusiastic teacher and prepares you well for the midterms. The midterms are very fair but require you to remember previous calculus classes very well. Overall, I would recommend taking the class with him

One of those professors whose enthusiasm for teaching masks his actual ability as a professor. Explains things good enough for lecture but provides challenging for homework. However, his midterm 2 featured questions that have never been seen, not even in the hard problems in the book. Totally unfair.

Unfair professor, puts questions on tests that have never been seen on gone over before. Do all you can to take this class with a different professor.

Matt is awesome. He is brilliant and loves to teach. Lecture is required because HW is due. The class is easy if you just do your work.

very helpful teacher taught with clarity but should go to lectures to understand better, because book isn't really helpful all the time.

Really helpful professor, he's the kind that will hint at midterm questions when you go to office hours. He likes to get to know his students which is really cool. The labs are pretty tricky but worth doing. Great class!
