Profesor Lubach is such a great guy. He genuinely cares for the school and students, and it shows. However, for ED 20, he doesn't lecture, instead he has guest speakers which sometimes were boring. There were weekly reading assignments, some fun others pointless. The sections are chill and I did actually learn and got some good advice.
Don is wonderful! The lectures are mostly guests so it's a waste of time to go unless section meets up after without sending an e-mail. Weekly writing assignments are due, no too bad. The final is a paper due a week before Finals week.
If you take this class do yourself a favor and don't go to lecture. Huge waste of your time. Only take this class for a GPA boost, but there are still weekly papers you must complete. No final, but participation is key for this class. Extremely tedious.
This is probably the most pointless class you will ever take in your college career. I did not learn a single thing about the university and this class is titled, "Intro to University." Lubach basically just had friends and students come in and talk about all of their goals they've accomplished over the years and it was absolutely dreadful. Easy A
He's always a treat to be around. The presenters in his class are usually great, sometimes boring, but he always knows how to lighten up a crowd. He's funny and willing to help you through your transition. You can't help but get happy around him. His TA's are pretty great, and his assignments can be tedious as heck but mostly easy.
Dr. Lubach really cares about transfer students success, and I absolutely loved his ED 118 class this quarter. He is a great speaker and an overall great lecturer! Yes there are a lot of papers and readings due, but its all on very interesting topics that promote self growth and critical thinking skills necessary for this research university! (:
Don, You're the man! One of my favorite professors at UCSB! If you do not take a class by this man then you are missing out! Lucky to have sat in 2 of his classes! He is highly engaged and truly encourages his students to do their best. If you ever need interview help or simply just someone to talk to, he is your man.
Freshmen take this class. It was so useful and you leave feeling like you know more about your school. It is a really easy class and the lectures & sections are so much fun, you end up really close to your classmates and your leaders. If there was ever a fun class at UCSB its this one! SO easy to get an A or B in this class, just turn in all hwk.
Don is great! He genuinely cares for his students and does his best to help them to the best of his ability. He is open and welcoming. The class is inspiring and will make you think.
Don is the most kind hearted professor ever! I highly recommend the class! Do your homework and participate in section and you'll get an A. All freshman should take it. You just might learn something about your awesome school.
Stellar professor! You won't find one more enthusiastic about what he does than Don. Easy class if you turn in your work on time and participate in section. Just do what's expected, which isn't a lot, and its an easy A
Really awesome and fun class for transfer students - Lubach keeps things interesting with speakers, music, and presentations. Learned a lot and sections are fun, too! :)
What a great lecturer! Captivates interest! I'm in his class right now hiding my phone and am so impressed I had to hop on to say so! Take this class if eligible ! :)
Cool professor! Very easy going and helpful, attended both lecture and section taught by him which were interesting! Read the text, attend lectures and sections, do your assignments and you'll get your A!
really kind and modest professor. 4 critical responses on the reading. if you need the book the cheap yahoo email ucsbgrl!sometimes takes attendance in lecture. there's a presentation and a 5 page final paper on the presentation. pretty easy; if you so all the work you'l get an A!
very funny and nice. have four hw assignments. one group project, presentation is the final along with a 5 pg. paper. not a hard class
Don Lubach is one of the coolest professors on campus. Showed a great interest and compassion towards the class. He's a genuine teacher who provides endless amounts of help and assistance to the students. Assignments each week but not hard. Final paper is not hard either, reflection of the class. Highly recommended.
easiest way to get a writing requirement out of the way. it's surprisingly interesting and prof lubach makes it worthwhile. it's a good way to get involved with campus, check out the LEAP section that deals more with leadership. weekly reflections, a 5 page reflection paper and then experiential activities. overall not bad, i loved it.
Lectures are about obvious topics, and are long and useless, but you are graded on attendance. Reflections every week are easy but time consuming. This class is a huge waste of time and not helpful. Only good things easy A if you do the work and show up, you can do other work during lecture. I guess take if u need credits or the grade, it suck tho
Easy class and great way to find out about all the resources on campus. Go to every section and do every journal well. Lectures sometimes dragged on.
