this would be considered a good class to take if professor Jamieson was not teaching it. Given we are in the middle of a pandemic, and our classes are enclosed to merely 6 weeks, the workload was quite excessive. Let's try to be understanding toward student's circumstances during these times.
Very caring and passionate even during remote instruction. Study a little for the quizzes and youre set.
EZ class, show up, take notes, do iclickers, spend 1 hour each week doing homework, only study b4 exam nights, easy A.
Her lectures are a bit unorganized but she covers almost all the exam contents, so it's fine. but it's still better to read the book if you really wanna learn about nutrition. she gives out study guides before exams, if you follow the study guide, it's really easy to pass.
Easy class, kind of a lot of memorization but not bad. Jamieson is super enthusiastic and sweet, and there wasn't much homework. Class could be a bit boring but the info is useful and I like the professor so would recommend.
Amy's done this a million times so she's very well spoken & specific on what matters. Graded by weekly quizzes, a handful of diet analyses, and the midterm/final which are scantrons. iClickers are used. Online txtbook is $70 or so. Be ready for mandatory attendance & paying attention. Don't recommend unless you care about nutrition (can be dry).
She's not knowledgable at all she reads off power points and goes through everything too fast. Majority of the information in her slides is random unimportant stuff, a headache to memorize. You won't learn anything in this class. There is bunch of great questions to ask on the exam and she'll ask the most unimportant random question.
She was pretty awesome. I learned a lot . The class was not difficult at all. There are iclickers every lecture, and sometimes the lectures feel really long. Overall, easy class. Easy assignments and exams. If you take good notes, and review your notes before the exams you will be fine.
This isn't a good class if you're into learning something. Half of the questions on the tests were like how many mg of __ is the recommended daily value? I don't remember a single value looking back on it now. Sure it's an easy class, but you are really just wasting your time. It doesn't count towards any requirements so just pick a different class
She's a wonderful lecturer, passionate about her subject and her students learning. The class is super easy if you pay attention in class. The tests are based on lecture. Book is online. I didn't read it because the assignments connected to it are easy and can usually be taken multiple times. The final is noncumulative. Super fun and learned a lot
Most of your grade is Iclicker and homework. Homework takes about 5 min. Class in general is super easy fairly basic nutrition stuff along side some basic biology. Tests were extremely easy and were based on memorization. Basically free units if you read the textbook and somewhat pay attention to the HW.
super easy class
This class is so easy. i-clickers make up a majority of the grade, and she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. I got a D+ on the midterm and C on the final and I still got an A-. Beware, tests are relatively hard so make sure you go to class and get those i-clicker points.
Professor Jamieson is extremely caring and she genuinely wants students to understand the material and apply the knowledge to daily life. It's really easy to get an A as long as you do the homework and go to class. Definitely recommend ESS 3!
This class is mind-blowingly easy. The only two important factors in this class are clicker points and homework. You can literally fail both the midterm and final and as long as you do the homework on time and get your clicker points you'll get an A. She does give extra credit as well.
Super easy. Lectures were dumb, I just did other homework. Everything seemed like common sense.
Her slides are straight from the book and she goes through the information way too fast. Final and midterm are confusing and have information that was never discussed (failed both). Weekly assignments, iclickr points, and extra credit saved my grade. (if you just need credits there are easier classes)
The lectures are very dry/ boring and she does iclickers, so you can't miss class. The tests are ridiculous because they don't correspond with the study guide or the reading. The only thing that saved my grade were all the homework assignments and extra credit. I got C's on both exams and ended up with an A- in the class.
I took this class just to get the 3 units and that was a mistake. You have to attend every lecture and there are time consuming assignments that I didn't see the purpose of. Email correspondence with this professor can be difficult, she does not reply for a very long time if at all. Many 4 unit classes I've taken have been easier than this.
Amy is a nice lady. She is helpful if you ask her questions in office hours. Weekly assignments are not bad as they take about 45 min-1 hr to do. She goes fast in lectures, so you're better off taking pictures of the notes than writing notes. I told her she was going too fast and she still zoomed through everything. An A is doable.
Amy made it sound like this class is an easy A. Do NOT listen to anyone that says this. She tests you on several things that she does not put on the study guide. Review your notes as this class seems like cake, but by week 4 it gets confusing. Show up to class every day, iClicker points are a must. Extra credit will save you.
Easy A. Show up to lectures, take notes, and do all of the homework on time and youll do fine. Midterm and Final are not a surprise at all and they arnt the entire chunk of your grade so make sure to do all of the homework. I got a B- on both the final and midterm and ended the class with a 97%!
Super easy class, no section and barely any homework. Average test grades are low but as long as you do iclicker, homework, and extra credit, super easy A. I barely listened in lecture and it was still super easy, and the information is actually pretty interesting. She give you lots of unnecessary info, weed out what you need.
Some lectures were a bit dry but that's just because I don't enjoy health biology. The homework is a third of your grade and it's super easy to get full credit. There are also some EC opportunities. The midterm and final combined are half of your grade, but if you have more than full credit for the rest of the course then you don't have to do well.
