It's nice to have a class where the professor truly wants you to get a good grade. Every step of the way he makes it easy to make up your grade or do better. The final was out of 115 points but he grades it out of 100. Dr. J is very nice. That said, if I could give him a difficulty of 0 I would. The class was not challenging in the slightest.

It was difficult to understand him sometimes during lecture because of his accent, but he is a very nice prof and very good at teaching the material as well. Lectures can be kind of difficult to follow sometimes, but the book is extremely helpful. Super generous exam curves, would take again if I could.

Great professor! Attending lectures is very very important as a couple midterm/final problems pop up from there. All hw is from the online textbook. Don't worry if you find yourself lost after lecture, just do the homework and then review the lecture notes and you'll be good. And he curves heavily at the end if you didn't do too well (i would know)

Extremely fair professor. No lecture notes / recordings so you should attend, and honestly I often left confused.. but homework was always doable and midterm and final were very similar. Midterm was out of 36 but curved to be out of 30, final was out of 110 but curved to be out of 100. 30% HW 30% midterm 40% final. Pretty sure curved at the end too

Extremely intelligent guy who really knows his stuff. Exams are fair and correlated to material discussed and homework. If you have the chance to take a class of his, do it!

You can tell he really knows his stuff. His online lectures were kinda hard to follow but even then he was able to simplify literally every concept. He is legendary and I wish I could take every class with him. Easy grader too!

Underrated professor. While I didn't always understand what was happening in lecture (and it was somewhat disorganized), you can tell he really knows his stuff. I read the book most of the time and I was fine. Fair tests, generous grading, and he curved up at the end too!

Dr. J is one of the best statistics teachers I have met, full of wisdom and patience. Every time during his lecture, he only needs a piece of chalk and a blackboard to teach you all the profound statistical knowledge without reservation. The handwriting is not easy to follow for the first time. Do your homework and you will pass the exam easily.

Dr. J is a very smart guy, took him for both 120B and 120C. His midterms are much easier than his finals in my opinion. Read the chapters in the book work out the examples in there and you'll do well in the course. Offers chance to make midterm weight into the final if you did not perform well on the midterm.

Prof J is clearly very smart but that doesn't exactly transfer to making the tough material painless. I found the tests in this class to be extremely difficult even though they were open note, open book and I studied a ton. Thank god for curves because I know I did poorly on the final but still somehow managed a b in the class.

I think Dr.J is one of the smartest professor I had the chance to take a class with. His lecture is taught completely without ever looking at any book or material almost without any mistakes. He is also very fair, with his exams reflecting similar degree to his homework and suggested problems. I can't read his handwriting most of the time though :P

Heavy accent and confusing handwriting. While it's clear that he knows what he's talking about, you have to make sure to be paying close attention during the whole lecture (otherwise you'll be lost for the remainder of the class). I personally did a lot more reading from the textbook than I usually need to. Easy tests, though!

He's one of the brightest professors in the stats department, not to mention incredibly humble and approachable. His lectures were a bit confusing and hard to relate back to the homework, but the practice midterm and final are pretty much identical to the exams. You can't skip class because the exams are lecture heavy. Class material is fair.

The professor is knowledgable and nice. His test is not that hard. On the other hand, he may get used to teach graduate students and the knowledge taught in class is very hard to understand. He is still a good prof tho.

He's a great professor. Alot of knowledge and formulas in his head so get ready to have alot in mind. He's very passionate about helping his student and he's more familiar with grad students who are committed student. Now with that said, if your class decides to not show up to class than expect a final based off of his lecture word for word.

Dr. J is a boss! The most knowledgeable statistics professor I have ever had. He teaches the class without using notes, and rarely makes any mistakes. Clear, concise lectures. Despite open book, open note exams the tests are somewhat challenging so don't underestimate them.

Never went to class (relied on the emails reminding us to come to tests), no CLUE what was going on, never did homework (quiz on hw in sections but TA would give answers and then have us copy that down). Since open note/open book, I was able to hone my crazy math skills on test days and get a B. If you don't need to take the 120B, this is your man.

Dude, his lectures are the best lectures in statistics or mathematics you will ever find!! He does all this without using any notes. Do you know of any other professor who can do that?? I thought not! Dr. J strolls into class picks up the chalk and literally takes you to school. He knows it! He's the best at taking difficult ideas and expl
