Landrigan's lectures were pretty boring. He uses business statistics for examples which confused me. Section is mandatory, but your TA really helps you learn the material for the class. The midterm and exams cover the things went over in section and the curve is usually really high. I remember that a D was a B on the curve.

Very bad professor. Hard to understand lectures and sections are mandatory but pointless, although I learned more from then that from him. Tests are very hard, half the questions on the final were nothing like anything we had ever seen before. I was lucky to get a passing grade

This class was very difficult. Professor Landrigan was not the best professor, however he was well organized. He is not the best teacher, but not horrible either. I thought pstat 5e was this very challenging.

Do not listen to the reviewers giving this guy a low score for no good reason... He's not the best at explaining the material but the class itself is well organized and you will NOT have a problem keeping up as long as you go to lecture or CLAS. He even posts practice problems before exams. Understand those problems and you're gold. Very easy.

Not sure why so many people complain about this guy. Nice professor who is always approachable and understanding on a one-on-one basis. Helped me alot get thru the course. He also explains material pretty well IMO. Recommended overall.

Nice guy but a terrible professor. He is unorganized and very slow because of his stutter. This makes him difficult to understand. His method of giving examples before explaining the formulas or methods used does not work and just confuses the hell out of everyone. Go to CLAS and sleep through lecture

The material overall for this class was semi-interesting and easy to learn and apply. But the teacher, basically didnt do his job because he didnt teach! I learned NOTHING going to lecture so I went to CLAS which was extremely helpful and got me through the class. Try a different teacher unless you have the time to learn the material yourself.

He does stutter a bit during lecture, but he's a really nice guy. He's always available to help you with homework. I accidentally came to his office once when he didn't have scheduled office hours, and he helped me anyway. His lectures are pretty clear, and helped me learn the material. His midterms (2) were too long, but he is a new prof.

He was new so i cut him some slack. His stuttering was a little silly. He seemed very nice. I didnt think it was impossible to learn at all, especially if you went to class and tried to pay a ttention. i got an A-.

pretty hard class all together... just like any other math class. professor tries to make class interesting...he even attempted to make an exercise using pennies. people should cut him some slack.

Okay wow...So reviewers below must def be freshmen. He is not nearly as bad as the majority of math profs@UCSB. I cant wait until they have 2 take more math classes here. That being said, hes still not the best, but since it was his 1st qtr teaching, give him some time & I think he will be more confident. The curve 4 this class is pretty sweet 2.

It was obvious that he was uncomfortable speaking in front of a group which made his teaching confused and disorganized. Take another professor because this class had a majority of people not pass or get low grades. I definitely didn't learn anything.

TERRIBLE! Has no clarity when he speaks and half the time someone asks him a question he has no answer for it so he will go around the question only to confuse you more. You learn more from your T.A.& the curve is really low because so many ppl don't know the material because he is such a horrid professor. DO NOT take his course you will regret it.

horrible teacher does not have any idea what hes talking about his nervous appearance makes him seem less credible every lecture wait for another teacher to take this class

The guy studders more than he says actual words. Nice guy though, but that's not what maks someone a good teacher.
