He explains the materials very clearly. He is funny and passionate about the subject. Overall great professor. The only problem may be that the exams were a little too simple (by the standard of typical physics exams). Some (I mean most) of the MC problems are straight from the book.

IGN rates 10/10. Eardley is the Best MLG quick scoper out there. Watch out you filthy scrubs

Prof. Eardley was great! His tests accurately tested the amount of knowledge the students have, rather than having really tricky and difficult problems as with previous professors. He's nice, funny, and portrays the information in an understandable and approachable way.

My professor for general relativity 40 yrs ago. His lectures back then were very entertaining and we also covered Hawking and Ellis' book on large scale structure of space time. He's the reason I became I a theoretical astrophysicist. Still have the notes from his class.

Super easy class. His jokes are funny when you're high

Very straightforward teacher. Makes the test the same difficulty as the homeworks. But the homeworks really aren't usually too bad. For an E&M class it wasn't too difficult. He lectures well, although can be a bit monotoned.

Took him for Gravity/General Relativity. Absolutely loved taking it with him. One of the few Bs I've earned since I got into upper division physics. Genius. Awesome lecturer. He's a gentle, happy old man. I only hope I can be as awesome as he is when I'm old. Probably not. SO thrilled he's teaching my quarter of 110b. I love Dougie!

cool professor who is very knowledgeable. Very experienced but you might have a hard time understanding what he writes but midterm and final was a complete joke

He'll explain everything thoroughly but it always sounds like he's talking to himself, not the class. His jokes are rare but amusing. Pretty boring lectures, right out of the book, but the explanations are decent.

Although the Homeworks for the class were way harder than the lectures or tests were, it was a different proffesor who wrote them. Super easy midterm. Easy final. Good teacher

Very nice guy. I wish multiple choice wasn't as big of a part of the test as it was. He is a little monotone. He cracks a few jokes every lecture but I think half the class was sleeping so no one ever notices. Straight forward class.

Super easy class. Most of your grade is mastering physics. The midterm was a joke, but the final proved to be pretty difficult. I think it's because no one really studied that hard for it because they figured it would be as easy as the midterm. In any case, you are a very lucky person if you get to have him for any physics class.

EASY PROF, I went to 4 lectures and got a B in the class. I'm sure if you tried you can get an easy A. HW was worth 55%, which saves your a** Tried to tie in what you were learning with real situations, no demos though which was a bummer

Great Class. Pretty easy A

First day of class, he said, "I don't use i-clickers, I use eye contact." Yeah the other reviews basically sum it up. His tests are easy. The homework can be hard though especially when it's multiple choice. Just find the answers on line or something so that you don't get such bad grades on the homework which is worth a lot.

Easiest class I ever took at UCSB...even easier than Music 15 with Edmond Johnson. You can't fail the class. Everyone gets either an A or B and it's not hard to get that A. Just make that formula sheet from all the highlighted equations and you are all set to get that easy A. I wish I could take this class with him for phys 4. OH WELL :(

ridiculously easy. this class was even easier than dance 35. eardley is really oblivious to everything, but he is really nice. he likes cats and static and he calls electrical engineers "double E's" haha. he is like the **** of physics but not quite as boring. earldley is awesome.

Eardley is a great old guy! This class is very easy (I'm also an electrical engineer, so all the electricity stuff was ridiculously easy). If you make an amazing note card for the exam and the final, you will no doubt get an amazing grade.

Physics with electricity and circuits is suppose to be quite difficult. This professor makes everything easy though. You don't even need to go to class. Just put down all the equations from the back of the chapters on your equation sheet before the test. Eardley's class is an easy A. Taking this class with Stuart or Freedman is MUCH harder though.

45% homework, 15% midterm, 40% final. His tests are easy and multiple choice and he lets you make a formula sheet. Online homework is actually kind of hard though. Class overall is easier that phys 1,2. Problems are very short and are mostly plug and chug.

This professor makes physics extremely easy. All exams are basic multiple choice questions and you are allowed cheat sheets. He is also really nice. I missed an exam because I overslept and he still let me make it up. You can't get a more understanding professor than that
