Pretty terrible professor, extremely hard to understand. Doesn't explain concepts thoroughly or consider concerns of individual students. Didn't help me at all in my time of need

He might be an easy professor, but his class seriously under-prepares you for 5C. I was able to coast through 5B but now that I am in 5C I am having a difficult time getting through it because I am missing key skills that should have been taught in 5B. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if you want to be well prepared for the next class

Easy class. You just need to remember when and what order to do gradients, partial derivatives, and magnitudes. That's pretty much what the class amounts to. And some multiple integrals. Nothing too bad. The textbook this department uses for 5B/5C is absolutely worthless though. I'll probably use it start my BBQ if I can't sell it next quarter.

Pretty easy teacher, goes pretty slow. Does a lot of examples and is helpful during office hours

Class wasn't easy by any means, but he is a fair professor. Tests had a few super easy questions and at least 1 or 2 more difficult ones. The book is completely useless though! If you can, get another book. It teaches vector calculus to you like you've been studying it your whole life. Most examples are proofs ffs! I had to use the internet forhelp

Great professor! He was excellent at teaching and went kind of slowly to make sure everyone understood what was going on. If you go to lecture you will do well in the class. His midterms and finals are pretty easy too.

Chetan is awesome. Other UCSB teachers don't like him because they say he skips material. But they're really just jealous that everyone loves Chetan and not them. Chetan teaches most of the material very well, and he makes class entertaining and engaging. He's friendly and approachable, which unfortunately can't be said about many other ucsb profs.

I remember hearing the CLAS tutors say this class has been "watered down" because of Chetan, but hey, I don't have a problem getting an easy four unit A in an otherwise butt kicking class. Partial derivatives and double integrals can get really hard. His exams were super easy though. I'm glad I got an A in his class and not an F from another prof.

I had already taken this class at a comm. college level and didn't learn anything. So when I transferred, I took diff. eq. and learned all I needed to know in a couple of lectures. Even though it was an 8:00 AM class, he kept me from falling asleep.

Chetan! He's always funny. Sometimes he'll start rambling during lecture, and it's hard to tell which concepts are important. But section really helps clarify. Also, I really like that he has people call him by his first name, and that he is so personable. I don't like when other professors get angry if you don't call them "Dr." Test are easyish

Awesome guy, but not a great lecturer. Easy tests, but he usually ends up way behind other classes/ skipping material

Chetan is cool. His tests are easy if you can do the homework. Honestly, you could sign up for CLAS and not go to class and be fine. If you plan on doing more linear alg/DE stuff, you won't learn all you need to learn, so I would suggest taking another teacher for that. But if you're just doing the 5 series, take him for sure. Easy A.

chetan is hilarious and fun. he loves to go off on anecdotes but its just to keep people paying attention. i did have one problem- he didn't teach the entire course; he spent too much time on some topics and just dropped the rest. other than that he is awesome.

Very entertaining, though not the best at using examples to explain things.

Chetan is a great professor, with a few quirks but these are very minor compared to his overall teaching ability. He is very entertaining and you will learn the material if you go to lecture. He teaches a few topics in a more difficult way than it actually is however, his exams are simple so as long as you can do the homework, you can ace his tests

He's nice, not the greatest teacher, but good enough. Homework and tests are super easy, so take him for the grade. Sign up for CLAS so you learn the material and you'll be golden. He lets us use notecards on the final..yeah, legit. Class average on first exam was in the 80s, and the second midterm average was in the 90s.

Chetan is chill. His lectures are crystal clear and the grading is fair. I recommend him.

Homework is somewhat hard, but the quizzes and tests are easy and straightforward. He explains the concepts well, but the CLAS tutor Jesse explains them better. Definitely go to CLAS in order to get the upper hand over everyone else in the class.

Good Guy. Wants you to do well by giving you the chance to do well. He is very fair. Do the HW and you will succeed. Take him over ANY other math teacher.
