Professor DIckey is the nicest professor I've had. He is totally approachable and cares only that his students learn and enjoy learning. If Professor Dickey offers a seminar TAKE IT!

BEST PROFESSOR AT UCSB. Such a great guy that makes the class so interesting. Brings his 3 Great Pyrenees to class almost every day. Extremely approachable, if you talk to him he will take a genuine interest in your life. So far my favorite professor here. Easy Midterm, Hard Final, Labs aren't too bad.
Professor Dickey is probably the sweetest man I have ever met in my life. He is approachable and helps you if you need it. He brings his fluffy white dogs to lectures! If you need an easy GE, take this one. Did not use book once, labs are so easy to do, assigns extra credit, and midterm was a joke. Final was hard but ended up with an A+
Very easy class. Didn't have the book, never went to class, and this class was still one of the easiest I've ever taken in my life. Don't stress about it, just go to section for labs and review the lecture slides before the final and midterm, and you'll be totally fine. Plus Dickey is a super nice guy.
Easy easy easy. Never have to go to class, just review powerpoints and practice exams. "lab" sections also very straightforward and easy.
TOMMY IS THE MAN. He is a super nice guy who really likes interacting with his students and is very approachable. He brings his awesome fluffy white dogs to class everyday. Best professor hands down. He has an insane amount of accomplishments and he's still really humble. He arm-wrestled the hulk and the loser has to paint himself green. That's all
Easiest class I've ever taken in my entire life. Professor Dickey is by far the chillest professor ever. He even brings his dogs to class for us to pet. He is extremely passionate about oceanography and it shows in his lectures. Easy class, don't need the book, don't need to go to class. Definitely guarantee taking it.

One of the nicest professors at UCSB. Super nice and accommodating; has a ridiculous amount of knowledge of his field of study. Midterm and final are worth 75% of this class but if you study hard for those you'll be fine
Midterm is extremely easy, final is hard. DONT buy the book, it only confuses you more. Go to lecture because he is an amazing lecturer who is straight to the point and loves when people engage with questions. Take him for easy GE! I got a B+ and the last time I took a science class was 9th grade!
He is super nice and willing to help you. He goes out of his way to meet with you and takes in interest in what you have to say. He even bought me and my friend woodstocks when we told him about a couple of the trips we went on. He's awesome! Definitely recommend him
Seriously professor Dickey is by far one of the nicest teachers here at UCSB. He really wants you to do well in the class. The only downfall is that the material in the class is dry but if you show any interest in the subject it is a class to take!
Great professor, great guy. Very helpful before and after class, made the effort to learn students' names and went out of his way to be nice. Brought his big polar bear dogs to class. Pay attention in lecture, do the labs, you'll be fine. I got an A+. I also learned a lot of pretty cool stuff, especially about weather. By far my favorite professor
I loved this class! The professor is super smart, nice, and helpful and even brings his Pyrenees dogs to class! He has done sooo much within the Oceanography field and is so humble about it. Go to class, read and go over the practice tests and you should get an A. I ended up with an A+! I definitely recommend this course.
The NICEST teacher ever. He really cares about Geography and really wants you to do well. He's so adorable! and he brings his pomeranian to class! Go to class, or at least study the slides/book. This is an easy class, but respect him. He deserves it.
By far the most approachable professor I've ever met. The book and lecture slides have everything you need to know in them. The two homework assignments and field trip were pretty easy and the exams were extremely easy as long as you kept up on the material. He wants you to do well as opposed to some other professors I've had last year.
Really nice guy and good professor. Really loves what he does and brings one of his dogs to every lecture. Pretty easy class. Final is not accumulative.

Dickey is a nice guy who brings his dogs to class. I found the lectures extremely dull but they are important to attend because a lot of the exam material is from what is said in lecture. Not difficult to get an A. All three exams were multiple choice and only took 50 minutes max. It never took me more than 30 minutes
Super nice guy! Really passionate about his subject. Found the lectures to be a bit sleep inducing at times, but other than that he is a great professor. He wants you to succeed and get an A, so if you put in the work, you will be happy with the outcome. Makes hard concepts easy to understand and shows their real world applications. I RECOMMEND HIM
Easy class. Prof is super nice! He brought in his dogs! always happy! Offered Extra Credit. Final is just like the midterms. Read the chapters and you will be good for any test or just review the online lecture notes. Recommend to take this class. It's interesting.
He is the nicest man ever. You can tell he is really enthusiastic about his field, he's always in a good mood, I didn't study for the second midterm and got 100% just from going to lecture and one review session. My TA was freakin awesome too, Joe Bergesen. Good class, easy way to get credits and GE req's out of the way
Great teacher, knows his stuff for sure! obsessed with his dogs but he's very funny. midterms are pretty simple as long as you do ALL the reading, no need to go to class lectures they re pointless but definitely go to discussions.
