Tests are straight from book. Either read or pay attention in class and you should be fine for those. The projects are worth half your grade, and she doesn't give a ton on direction them, so they can be difficult. If you're having trouble, talk to her after class. Make sure to do the extra credit. Not too hard of a class if you put in some effort
Real world examples are good.
Helps prep for CPA exam
very practical and helps with CPA exam
good practice on tax law for me and others
lots of variety in projects, case study good.
Class project helped me understand taxes. Lectures were practical and useful to me.
Class project actually helped me do my own tax return - and understand it! Lectures are easy to listen to since she has interesting stories and a good sense of humor. Final is on last day of class.
She is totally disorganized and has a callous disregard for her students. (Perhaps her "real job" insists she teach?) Her tests and her lectures are straight out of the book, so study the slides and you'll do OK. She puts a lot of emphasis on her projects, but doesn't explain clearly or answer questions on them. Her personality is dry and boring.
Decent class, dont have to attend if you go over the slides and skim the book. Test arnt hard if you know the basics but the project and case matter a lot. Take a few days to finish but as long as you stupidly explain every detail you'll do decent on the case and people messed up the entire tax return and still did good.
Duuuuuuuulllllll lectures but the class is extremely useful
Easy elective class. One midterm and one final all multiple choice cept maybe one question (final during dead week, so no "real" final). Tests are pretty easy if you study just a bit. Projects are a bit more difficult, try to work with other people. She puts a curve on at the end for sure. Shouldn't be a difficult A if you put a little effort in.
Lots of facts to know or memorize but she explains it very well and was always helpful after class. Tests were pretty easy. Research project and case study was interesting.
Overall OK. Went to about every other class, as she reads directly from power point slides which are available online. Tests are fairly easy, final project was easy, case study(tax return) was little challenging, mainly because she was so vague in her explanation. I've had way worse econ teachers
Very fair. Easy to listen to. Tough material but prof is very helpful. Encourages class participation and asks us questions which makes it more intersting

Sheridan is fairly laid back. Tests are pretty fair and reasonable. Lectures can be pointless at times as she just reads through the textbook. Could do a better job of organizing the class and returning graded work
She is very unorganized and does not know how to teach at all. I would suggest taking this class with a different professor.
