Keep up with lectures, do the practice questions, and don't procrastinate on projects. Not a hard A.

Very good professor, you will succeed if you work hard.

Have no idea why she designed the course that way. Lecture is simply repeating the videos on GS, no different from the online course. Don't know why everything is done on a paid textbook. The most stupid thing is that we cannot return to the previous question in the exam (you CANNOT CHANGE THE ANSWER AFTER YOU REALIZE YOU'RE WRONG)! Bad experience.

Prof. Bedard's lectures are so interesting, and she is really nice to the students. This is an easy class but it really depends on your TA. My friend got a harsh grader gave him low project grade, my TA grades fairly. Overall, as long as you put in effort, you can get an A!

The overall course content of the class was not difficult and easy to understand with the lectures, but the projects are what will take away from your grade.

This class was super straightforward. The syllabus explains exactly what the class will be and her lectures line up well with test content. She is amazing and I wish I had her again because she is the gem of the Econ department

Prof Bedard was great at delivering the curriculum. Lectures were easy to follow and the textbook was helpful for practice problems. No curveballs on exams, with only a few exceptions, simple homework assignments, but projects were a bit difficult depending on your TA. Not an easy class, but totally doable if you put in the work.

Bedard isn't bad for online Econ 1. Lecture content is engaging and decently simple, class is 90% async, but your grade 100% depends on your TA. Beware of ultra-strict project grading that drops your grade and every point counts (only 100 points available for class). Find a friend in the class to work with and you'll be fine.

Winter 20- It is clear what it takes to get an A from the start and if you put in the work it is doable. I felt like I was teaching myself since the lectures are basically repeats of the textbook though. With that said, put in the work (reading/understanding the chapters, CLAS, not procrastinating on projects) and you'll do fine. Good luck

Terrible class. Do not take this class if you don't need to.

The only thing I got out of that class was a crash course on how to excel. Other than that her lectures were not very helpful and her tests were difficult.

I took her Econ 1 online and got 96%. Course contents are not hard, projects are a little bit tricky but I was able to learn a lot of useful excel skills.

I had Professor Bedard for Econ1 online and I thought this class would be one of my easier classes since I took AP Economics. However, you do need to take the time to study the material in order to pass. We had projects and your project grades really depend on your TA. All in all, you definitely need to put in the work to get a good grade.

COVID, online. What are you expecting? This is your first major class for Econ/E&A. Actually watch the lectures, do the practice tests, and review, you are gonna be fine. 4 tests and 4 projects, both drop the lowest. A is not too easy but completely doable. Professor Bedards lecture and slides are super easy to understand and not too boring.

The exams and homework were relatively simple, but the real headache were the group projects. The instructions for the group projects were not specific, and the professor and TAs didn't do a good job answering questions students had. I would definitely not take this class again.

Bedard is the head of the econ department so she likes to play everything by the book. Very clear from day 1 what it takes to get an A. Tests are pretty easy if you watch the lectures. Projects are the worst thing I have ever done. The TAs grade the projects so harshly. MAKE SURE TO CONNECT YOUR PROJECTS TO CLASS MATERIAL. TAs are horrible!!

She is not accessible at all for office hours. I emailed her for an appointment, but she said just to come to online office hours, but she never showed up. The tests were open notes, so the wording was made confusing and misleading. I wish the test would have been fill in the blank. The material was easy but the questions were phrased to confuse.

She gives pretty good lectures and is an organized professor and the work for the most part is pretty moderate. Exams are pretty okay though the projects can be a really challenge not because they're complex but merely because the directions can be vague. Overall a decent class and the grading is pretty fair.

HW is twice a week and tests are not so bad if you watch lectures and do the work! Definitely doable, tho there are 4 projects to do and these can be time consuming and annoying too but for the most part it's expected. all lectures were pre-recorded so that was very convenient! Recommend if you want to get this class over with for your major fast.

I have never taken an econ class before and I did great in Bedard's class. Her lectures were amazing, the homework was easy and quick, the tests were very similar to her practice tests/lectures, and the projects were really interesting (but difficult). Go to every section, take extensive notes on everything in the videos/lectures, and you'll be ok

As long as you watch the lectures and do the work, you will be fine, not heavy reading though. She is a very nice professor. She is always happy to answer you questions during her office hour.

Great woman but her lectures are far too hard to understand. AP Econ in high school will not prepare you for her course. She moves way too fast and is too vague. She is the type of professor that assumes you know everything so she glosses over everything. Get ready to go to tutoring big time if you want to pass. Participation heavy!

Lectures were slightly confusing in that her explanations were hit or miss. I don't think I would've been able to do relatively well just with lectures. Be ready to do a lot of outside practice/learning and go to CLAS!

in class explanations are extremely vague, have to look online for simple economic concepts that she fails to explain in an easy way. all of the topics/past quizzes give extremely vague and lazy explanations for the questions. not enough practice material to do well on her quizzes for an econ beginner because of her extreme specificity on quizzes
