She was terrible. Focused on her tenured works, instead of anything that would undoubtly further a Freshman education. Waste of a class.

Britt is friendly and very willing to help (she also has chocolate in her office!) Great class, but you get out of it what you put in. It can really help you if you are up to the challenge!

I learned in this class that every white person is evil and have endless amounts of wealth we steal from the poor, while all other races are the helpless victims of the whites. Anything else? Hmm, no, not really.

Class was on the easier side, but learned more in it than most of my other classes. Lots of discussion, some of it kind of boring, but much of it invaluable to your understanding of the university.

Class called "intro to the university" but you learn nothing about the university, it’s a class about freshmen. The entire class just seems to be a method fro brit to study more about freshmen. Pointless class. One of the lectures is about how your parents miss you. Papers graded unnecessarily hard.

The easiest "A" I ever earned, but did I learn anything? Heck no. Be prepared to talk about your feelings, not your thoughts. And remember, either you or your parents are paying thousands of dollars for this.

Class was interesting, but lectures were too long and sometimes pointless. Learned alot about myself sometimes and other times couldn't wait to leave. Journal assignments are easy, but a lot of readings and the midterm and finals are really not as easy as they sound. Not an easy A...good luck.

Very interesting class. You learn stuff that you would never have known about our school. The midterm and final are take home essays!!! How easy is that? AND, they are really guided. You have to write about yourself, so not like there's research involved. Fun and easy class. Not really an easy 'A'.

Words of wisdom, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! its the worst! the midterm and final are hard. the discussion leaders, and Britt make it seem like an easy class! its NOT! its pointless, and its way hard. if you try to talk to britt about a problem, she'll just ignore you or give you a negative state!

Do not take this class. Her midterm and final's are papers that have unrealistic expectations. The class seems easy until you get your paper back and you get a B- for fulfilling every requirement on it. Lectures they teach you what you already know and reading is abundentand extremely boring!

Easy A pssh. The paper is extremely hard and her expectations for it are unrealistic. She's nice but seems to thing because she had such a dramatic college experience we all should too. Not a good class if you don't enjoy talking about yourself. Discussions sections are easy though.

sounds like an easy class, but it is not. lots of reading, and hard test on midterm. She assign lots of readings and if u cannot keep up, then u have no idea on her midterms and paper, cause everything come from that "nice"---boring reader

She is great. There are a couple lectures in the class that could be improved on, but that's how it is in every class. A lot of the material seems like common sense, but Britt does a good job of really making it mean something.

hahaha, this class was a joke... i never went to****, no discussions no lectures no nothin, but turned in the lame ass work and got a B+ for 3 ge units in this lame ass class... the course info is absolutely useless common sense**** u have known your whole life, however, they teach it anyway

Scary class in sense that it's not at all what the course description would have you believe. Britt's nice/cool, though not exactly clear on what she wants you to know for the tests; the class was unexpectedly difficult and she wasn't forgiving on this.

amazing class...brings up issues that get overlooked in UCSB's 'look at me, I'm rich, spend all day at the beach, and only care about getting A's so my parents dont yell at me' culture. anyone looking for a connection to getting involved should take this.

If you wanna feel like you're in junior high or if you're desperate for an easy A, take this course. But if you want to learn something of any substance, definitely look elsewhere.

She is so much fun. Anyone who doesn't like her must not have talked to her one on one at all, she is hilarious, down to earth and just plain awesome!

I think that Britt is an amazing professor. She truly cares about the students. I would recommend her to everyone.

The first clue that this class sucks should be the teacher's name - "Dr. Brit." Are you kidding me? And Jack Rivas is a pompous hasbeen. The discussions feel like 7th grade - stupid ice breakers and a bunch of kids oversharing their lives

She's an alright lecturer, but the lectures are kinda dry.
