If you ever have the chance to take her, do it! She truly cares for her students and if you ever fall behind, she is there to help you catch up and is sincere with every word that she says. I wish I could take her again, best writing teacher there is!
I loved her. She truly cares about her students and genuinely wants you to learn. PLEASE take this class if you can. She brings a comfortable vibe to the class and wants to make sure you succeed. Shes motivational because she really gets you to understand yourself and makes you want to move forward with writing. I loved her class a lot.
If you want an easy writing class, take this PROFESSOR! She is so genuine and really cares for her students, her class is so EASY! There are 2 big writing projects but you have alot of time to work on them and she gives amazing feedback on your drafts! Short readings She follows a grading rubric so follow that! One of my favorite profs at UCSB!
Great professor. You can tell she really wants her students to succeed and makes sure we're always on the same page. Twice she extended our essays' due date so we could have more time to perfect them. Also v helpful to meet 1 on 1 with her. Lets you choose your own essay topic for the last essay which lets you choose something that interests you
Professor Johnson is one of the best professors that I have had thus far since attending UCSB. She makes writing interesting and informative. There are three major papers but they are relatively easy as long as you follow the prompt and do every step of the process that she assigns. She grades fairly easy as well so that's a plus.
Such a great professor! She is very helpful and enthusiastic about the material. She grades essays very easily. 2 major papers, 1 presentation, and some little homework assignments. Not that much work for a writing class and very easy to get an A. Highly recommended, she is fantastic!
Professor Johnson is the absolute best! Her class was fun and informative. Additionally, she is a very kind and caring woman. Her goal is genuinely to make her students better writers and she'll go the extra mile to do so. My favorite professor I've had thus far. Highly recommended.
I LOVE THIS WOMAN! She made rhetorical analysis fun, and was super helpful. Class discussions helped with the development of our papers, so it wasn't too hard. It's impossible not to get a good grade with her.
Such an awesome professor. Not an easy CLASS but Johnson DEFINITELY makes it easy. She's passionate about what she teaches and takes the class step by step. Intelligent, helpful and friendly. All what a professor should be! and she makes the class interesting so you're not bored the whole time.
She never asigns busy wok or anything she doesn't believe is beneficial to her students. Very helpful and nice
She is amazing! I went into that class hating writing, but as the weeks went by I realized that I really did not as much as I did. She makes herself available to your time if you have something urgent to do. In taking her course, I can honestly say that I gained a stronger inner-sense of confidence. Definitely take writing with her!
She is a good teacher. However, she pays a lot of attention on detail and grammar. For native speakers, this class is easy. If you are an international student, you 'd better check your writing with CLAS or anyone who is perfectly good with grammar. Or you will end up with a C in her class....
One of the best writing teachers I've had! She is very helpful in office hours and the material you learn in class is extremely useful for an accounting career.

This teacher made me feel like I could accomplish any writing class at UCSB! She is very clear, fun, and builds your confidence to do well for the rest of your college career. Great to talk to outside of class, even. Breaks things down so it seems easy enough to do. Take her class! Very sweet lady.

Professor Johnson was amazing! Her class seemed overwhelming the first day, but she breaks the research paper down into small pieces so that it's super easy to do well. In class reviews, office hours and her knowledge of the topic from her own research paper made it easy to get an A in her class. TAKE HER CLASS! Also, only needed a $20 reader.
I was dreading taking another writing class to finish up my GEs, but this turned out to be my favorite class last quarter. Only one large (15ish page) paper but you do it in steps. Really manageable. Fully recommend professor Johnson.
I was dreading taking this class, but Jennifer is such a sweet prof.! Everything is baby-steps with her, so you will never be overwhelmed. Def. recommend her!
I highly recommend taking Writ 109EC with Professor Johnson. The class was challenging, but you'll learn a lot if you put effort into accomplishing the assignments. You'll come out of this class having a good idea of how to make business plan, a resume, and much more.
