Professor Browning was a fantastic professor! She not only made writing fun, but she was also a great resource outside of class. The class consists of three projects which are not difficult, but they take time and effort. Not sure that she will be teaching next year, but if she is, her class is 100% worth taking!
Her class is so long and her boringness made it longer. I hated coming to this class because it moved so slow and our assignments were more like busy work. She made us read a lot and we ended up using almost none of the stuff we read in our actual assignment. The research paper was fine but make sure you put a lot of effort and follow formatting.
Prof. Browning is probably the most caring prof I've had at UCSB thus far. The course was amazing and the readings were interesting, so the work was really enjoyable. I found myself studying for this class in procrastination of my other classes because I liked it so much :). No tests, just 3 projects that aren't bad at all if you stay on top of it
Professor Browning is by far my favorite professor at UCSB. THis is the second class I had with her and i can honestly feel my growth as a writer. This class requires effort and you cannot just fly by and get an A. She really cares about her students and wants everyone to do well, you will learn alot about writing and yourself too.
Professor Browning is so sweet. You actually learn a lot because she teaches you to try new processes that are outside of your comfort zone. She is always open to give you feedback and is a great person to run ideas by. She cares about your growth as a writer and teaches things in a way that is easy to understand.
Professor Browning was my favorite professor I have ever taken at UCSB. She cares about each individual student and wants you to become a better writer. The class consisted of an essay as well as a group project. I encourage others to talk to her at office hours-- an inspiring individual.
Professor Browning is amazing! Writing 160 is a really unique course that teaches u how to tutor. Some small assignments here and there but overall just two papers and one project, really easy, genuine, fun class to be apart of. Show up to class, do what is expected, and try learning something new and you will get an A. Teacher is awesome take her!
Randi is easily one of the best professors I have ever had at UCSB. She inspires her students to write and teaches numerous useful techniques. Although at times the workload may seem heavy, students are well prepared and equipped to handle it. Everything Randi assigns has a purpose and she truly wants all of her students to succeed. Very genuine
Loved Browning! She is one of the sweetest ladies ever! I had her for two writing courses, and she is definitely one of the best professors I had. There are some books you have to buy, but nothing too bad. Make sure to show up to class and keep up with the work. Definitely not a hard class - really helpful professor. 100% recommend.
At first I was skeptical because she assigned so much reading for the first couple weeks but that reading really helped me write!
Such an amazing professor. She really cares about each student and their personal interests. She's the reason I'm entering a professional writing program. I'd take her class again in a heartbeat. She demands a lot because she believes in you and she's willing to stay late to see you in office hours & help.

She's a very nice and passionate teacher, but for a Writing 2 class she expects so much! She requires so much work to be turned in for each paper, there are 4 big papers and 4 writing assignments for each one. Plus there is a group project that was basically pointless.
She was very nice and helpful. We had a creative writing piece and a 10 page research paper. The assignments were open ended and and she allowed us to explore our abilities as writers. She made sure to adjust the class schedule according to the students needs. I enjoyed the class and recommend as the upper division writing requirement.
She is a great professor who is not only intelligent, but kind. She actually cares about your success in her class and in general in life. She adjusts the pace of the class to meet the needs of the students. You'll learn a lot. Wasnt interested at all when I signed up for it
Randi is an amazing teacher. She really cares about her students and gives you all the tools you need to succeed in the class and writing in general. the class structure is unique and she teaches a variety of different genres. Great class that kept me interested the entire quarter.

She is super nice and passionate. I actually learned a lot. However, she definately loads on the work. I had to do way more for this class then all my friendds in other writing classes.
Exceptionally well developed class. Professor Browning inspires her students to be better at writing by focusing on pre-writing strategies and in class editing workshops. The class really helped my writing. A bit fast paced, but do your best to keep up and you will take a lot away from her class and a decent grade also.

She is a very nice teacher. She loves to help her students. If you do your homework, you should get a pretty good grade. The class is pretty boring sometimes though. Nevertheless, she gives you a lot of writing tips.
Grades easy. But requirements for class in general are easy too.
