I missed the drop deadline for this class, so I decided to fail it instead instead of trying to pass. It was intolerably boring and difficult. Writ 2 should be an easy GE prereq class - she gives difficult readings that are boring for nearly everyone and there are paper assignments daily. She's nice, just not an interesting teacher
3 papers, very hard to understand concept of prompt, nice teacher, but HARD GRADER. Her paper topics aren't very interesting. Advice: Avoid her class.

Go see her before every paper you turn in. She likes it when you show effort into improving your paper.

Walling never really teaches you "how to write." There is basically no point in attending class. She is really nice and wants to help you but the articles she has you read are incredibly boring. She does write helpful comments on your papers but that is what a writing teacher is supposed to do. The class was a waste of time.
I expected Writing 2 to be difficult, but Walling's more of a thinker than a teacher. It's not a bad or hard class, but you just can't help but wonder what's going on.
She is a very hard professor....class is hard and you never know what she wants out of you...BORING topics that are hard to understand....doesnt teach you to write..you just come to class and analyze the readings you read the night before. if you can get out of her class...do so immediately but if only option...still dont take it...wait it out.
Walling is very knowledgeable, nice and intelligent but it is incredibly hard to get interested in the class because her taste in reading material is excruciatingly dull. Her expectations for papers and short responses can also be very vague and misleading. Get another professor if possible.
