This class was pretty cool. Lots of reading, but she gives the class a study guide. Tests are not too hard, but the final was a bit longer than I like. She's very stationary in class too, only stays at the podium. She shares some of her experiences in India during lecture, but she should share more to enrich the course. Overall grade: B

One of the best courses I have taken at UCSB. A lot of reading, but interesting stuff. I learned a lot. Lectures are well-organized and she does NOT just read from notes. She clarifies and gives examples that make attendance worthwhile. Exams and grading are fair. Not difficult if you keep up with the study questions. Nice person.

Very boring class.Wouldnt be so bad if the teacher didnt read the entire lecture from her notes. Insane amount of reading and even though you get the study questions before the midterm and final, they are overwhelming.way too much work in this class.

Would have gone more often if the professor improved her lecturing skills--reads the whole time, really monotone--this makes it really hard to take notes. Study questions are overwhelming, divide them up in a study group and you'll be fine. Tests are a breeze (but be prepared to read A LOT)

this class covered very interesting subjects and the majority of the articles were great. the course load is excessive... so if you are willing to study 250 ques for the final/midterm each. Shes really nice though :)

very nice, tests have alot of info but not as hard as they seem.
