I miss Rich, he is by far the best professor at UCSB.
Defintely one of the best professors ever to grace the UCSB Campus. Great guy and great class.
He's a cool guy, but gets distracted too easily. Pretty much always a powerpoint or two behind schedule. He's helpful when you ask hm questions, but it's better to just go through the power points on your own time. Tests are somewhat difficult. He gives some extra credit, so it;s not a difficult class to pass.
I loved Rich, nice guy! But his exam are confusing and do not make sense. This class should be curved, but it's not. I would take this class pass/ no pass. I studied my butt off and to no avail, A on first 2 exams, and C on final, because the final is poorly written! He even admits this but won't change it! So take it, just remember pass/no pass!
Easy class. All you do is work out, he is very easy on you and lets you go at your own pace. You bike on Mondays, run on Wednesdays, and swim on Fridays. the test are super easy. You have a take home final :)
Awesome and tells some good stories
really enjoyed the class and recommend it! gives good test reviews but final was hard! went in with an A- and ended up with B, avg grade on the final was 72% and i got 76. takes attendance sometimes which does impact your grade. two small essays which are an easy 100% to boost your grade. no assigned reading but material does show up on tests.
Prof Powell is an awesome guy and has really extensive knowledge in this class! His lectures are really important and can be substituted for some of the readings. He gives away test questions and answers a lot of questions relating to both daily life and the class itself. Totally recommend taking this class, it was one of my favorites.
this class is extremely fair and hardly any work. however its not an easy a. you actually have to study the final is much harder than the midterms!
My fav professor so far. He is very chill and friendly and is super enthusiastic about teaching the course. You'll learn a lot from him :)
super chill and laid back guy. his class is interesting and engaging but not hard to do well in. the textbook is helpful in reviewing for the tests. he also tells you what to study for the tests and even gives you some of the answers for questions that will appear on it.
He gives extra credit, posts his notes online, and is interesting. I loved his class.
all lectures are posted online. gets off topic and starts class late, which leads to a lot of skimming before tests due to material that we haven't covered yet. gives out questions for tests ahead of time and review for the midterms / final is extremely helpful. really chill guy, likes what he does and knows what he's talking about.
Chill, witty, awesome.
Really fun and engaging professor. He likes to talk off topic but really cool guy.
Nice guy, laid back. Gives extra credit, so it is easy to do well. Pay attention in class and know how to do what he shows and you will ace the class.
He was my favorite professor this quarter. Just a really nice, laid back guy. The midterms and final were a little bit harder than expected, but overall the class is pretty easy.
Rich is a great professor who makes the class enjoyable and very manageable. Only very light studying required for the two midterms and no homework throughout the quarter
Rich is the man. No other words needed. Take a class with him. He is laid back and very chill. The tests were actually pretty hard though, so you need to study (this should be obvious though)
Very Helpful, Chill guy. Laid back, no homework. good class, good teacher
He is a good teacher, I would recommend his class. Attendance is mandatory.
Awesome.

Rich is a cool professor and this is a fairly easy, yet interesting class. The papers are basically free points and pretty easy. Just pay attention to the key points in lectures and I would recommend going over the slides online before the tests and you should be fine.
