The lectures and long and boring, but easy to digest. You can show up just long enough to take attendance and get away with simply looking up the websites of feature artists for the info on the two tests that make up the majority of your grade. Not challenging, and the professor herself doesn't teach. Guest artist presentations make up the course.

Art 1C you show up and get an A. Each week there is a guest speaker and that's the whole course.

This class was a joke. You either get an A or P for showing up to four presentations. I only ever went to one because I realized you could just submit your attendance online without having to be there. Take this for an effortless gpa boost.

Jennifer has an excuse almost every day for being in a bad mood. Her lectures are boring, and her class seems like a last minute put together thing. She has a weird way of grading group quizzes, although it is not hard to get an A in her class. She cuts students off when they try to ask a question and is brutal towards them sometimes. Not pleasant

Terrible. There is no sense of direction in the class, nor any of her lectures. She had multiple breakdowns in class and your grade is 100% decided by the TA. Only good part is the class is a joke and very easy to get an A. The final had nothing to do with any of the lectures but class was mandatory.

Kind and understanding. Very accommodating of students' needs in her schedule. Receptive of many differing and challenging opinions. Encourages multiple interpretations and leaves questions open-ended for class discussion.

Jen is intelligent, well-spoken, knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. HOWEVER.... She didnt show up to class numerous times... was ALWAYS at least 20 min LATE! asked the class to reschedule a section for her. and its just not worth it. She expects last minute drives to la gallerys. and a 130$ book is cheap to her. What world does she live in?

Not good, full of personal excuses for not being able to attend class, late almost everyday. Condescending and seemed irritated that she even had to teach the class. Students would ask questions and she'd cut them off or tell them the question was irrelevant. Not encouraging, NOT INSPIRING. Avoid.

Jen is an amazing teacher. She is clear and open for opinions. She encourages questions and never puts her students down. She is excited about art and her own work is exciting. This is the second class I have taken from her and hopefully not the last.

Attendance is a big part of the grade. dont miss too many of the lectures. there are two 10 page papers and thats it. when u get the essay questions, read the articles that u plan to use in your papers that will be enough.

NOT your typical art/art history course. 25% of your grade is based entirely on attendance, and the remaining 75% comes from a 10-page midterm paper and a 10-page final paper. No tests, quizzes or h/w. If you can write & research a topic well, you should be fine!

Terrible lectures, but attend all of them because the final is a paper based off of particular classes. The weekly summaries of the readings are tedious, but they're just based on attendance, so as long as you do it you get a good grade. Really easy graders.

interesting subject and very knowledgeable professor. not always clear, but if you're willing to put in the time to do the learning, a very rewarding class

Jen is very supportive and helpful of her students and their work. Some people are turned off by the fact that she makes it clear that she won't be taking**** from her students, but by taking the upper hand she really encourages her students to take active interest in the class and not just show up for a grade.

HORRIBLE!!! Boring... VERY boring and confusing reading. Lectures never seem to have a point to them and don't really relate to art most of the time.

Worst class I've ever taken!! Do NOT take it with her! Wait for the other teacher, I've heard he's better. Don't bother with buying the reader, more than half of the readings WON"T be in there anyway!! And if they are, u will spend hours searching for 'em since there's no table of contents and they're not organized in ANY way.

Very difficult to understand. Jen can sometimes confuse an individual who doesn't hold a high interest in art theory. She's however very nice and approachable. Her interest and extended knowledge in art will amaze you and keep you interested as well.

I think Jen is an amazing artist as well as teacher. She is not an easy grader, but that encourages you to do better... She likes to challenge us and that is what everyone should be wanting. I have learned a lot from her.

Please, get off your high-horse! Who cares if you went to college younger than most people, you're horrible!!! Your teaching ability is limited to waxing philosophical about so-and-so movement, then trying to apply it to your own work, which by the way, SUCKS!

Jen is one of the reasons no one wants to major in art anymore. Snobby and pretentious, she thinks that a complicated concept will merit her "art" some credibility. Face it Jen, you're a crappy artist and a crappy teacher. Try something you're good at, like doing make-up for clowns.
