Compared to the other physics prof Roger Freedman, Stuart is fantastic. His lectures for the most part are fairly clear and his tests are straightforward even though they are still very difficult. Also, he's a nice guy and very approachable.

He gives a lot of practice questions before exams that are really helpful. Also, exams are almost entirely multiple choice. Lectures were a bit confusing and hard to follow, but he's a really nice guy.

This class was not very interesting to me, his lectures were hard to follow. Homework was really hard, but exams in comparison were pretty easy. He put his lecture notes online as well as numerous practice questions to help you prepare for the midterms and final.

It's a very difficult course. Lectures can be long and/or boring, but he puts the entire lecture & notes online. Exams are multiple choice and are difficult even with a full page of notes. Online homework (MasteringPhysics) is due weekly. Grades with a 3% curve (87% = A-). On the flipside, Stuart is a really nice guy and is definitely approachable.

class is very hard due to bad lecturing and extremely tedious and difficult homework. he allows you to have one page of notes per test.tests are all multiple choice but somewhat unfair because if u get ALL conceptual correct on test(which is approx 90-95% of ?'s)u still get about a D if u miss the one or two hard questions. teaches complexly.

i usually like physics, but this class just seemed a bit too disorganized, and it will affect your grade come the second mid term. hes young and new, so i guess that probably why. if you take his class goto CLAS instead of discussion because the TA's are absolutely worthless.

wet dream for nerds, for the average engineering/sciences student he's a nightmare. The homework is difficult and his lectures are pointless explorations into algebra and never about problem solving (which may help you on the exam)... Read the book and make sure you understand the homework to succeed.

He's an awesome guy and one of the best physics professors I've had. He is very helpful and accessible outside of class (always go to his office hours!). He's not afraid to admit his mistakes and even jokes about them sometimes. He really wants you to learn about the material and not just memorize equations.

Very tough course. Tests are hard even with the 1 page of notes. Very helpful in and out of the class though.

He's a fairly good teacher. Moderately interesting lectures. Tests are hard & you get a page of notes. You have to know everything WELL, just memorizing equations will get you a failing grade. Easily approachable but still pretty tough.

Easy. I never went to his lectures and got two As. Just make sure you know how to do HWs really really well.

His lectures are satisfactory, but if you read his online notes, things are much clearer. He's very helpful with answering questions and explaining things both in person and via email if you take the initiative. Tests are reasonable--they cover things he has definitely gone over, as well as things that show up on homework.

I've had Stuart for Physics 2 and Physics 3. His tests are very reasonable and he has good lectures (though he stumbles a little sometimes). If you're an electrical engineer you'll be bored as hell because you know half the class already. You heard me, you KNEW half the class already - so stop bragging, jerks!

Pretty bad teacher overall, semi-easy tests and you get a whole page of notes. You really have to go to CLAS tho, it makes his class so much easier. He writes the tests for the kids stupid enough to sit through lecture. Dd goo ur homework an to CLAS. Easy A.

this teacher is a horrible. his notes are helpful, but i recommend you read those and not go to class, one'll probably be much better off.

I have taken prof Stuart for phys 1,2,3 so far. He is a great teacher. Very clear and concise. I couldn't imagine physics without this professor!!!

Overall very clear, though things got murky when we got into thermodynamics. Midterm was very easy in my opinion, and was not scantron (thank God!) No longer requires a hard copy of CAPA homework, which is a good thing.

Great professor! I've always thought Physics was something I couldn't do, but this prof made it very accessible. I was pleasantly surprised!
