This guy is an engineer wannabe but is unwilling to put in the effort. He loves to talk about large ideas without actually knowing them in detail. His class basically forces you, the student, to do the research for him so he can sit back and read your essays. He's okay, just not what I would consider a professor in the professional sense.

class revolves around politics...take this class its an easy A if you just turn in your stuff ontime. if you are interested in anything like biofuels, immigration, etc. then you'll like this class

Very unclear as to his expectations. I did not recieve any feedback on my work in the class until I recieved the final grade. Very subjective grading.

Haner is such a flexible guy. This class is not a breeze if you intend on learning and putting effort into the course. I don't know how many A's he gave out, but if you dedicate your time to the course, you won't be surprised with your grade.

I wouldn't say that this class is very easy, but he makes it a lot more flexible than the other teachers. I really enjoyed his class and his teaching. I definitely recommend him.

Haner is the BEST! One of my favorite teachers here at UCSB. Very helpful, understanding, and clear. The class was also one of my favs. Definitely take him if you get the chance

Take this class. it was the easiest writing class ever. he gives everyone A's, and is very laid back about turing papers in. not a hard class. its a good two hours a week in class to study for other classes.

Very politically opinionated, and not afraid to show it. This can be difficult to listen to for people with opinions that differ from his. The class is far too focused on politics and not enough on writing at all.

Haner is a cool guy. I dont know if its because i took it in summer but this is the easiest class i have ever taken. He didnt collect anything on time, all we had to do was turn our work in before he had to submit grades. also the presentations were a joke.

Awesome teacher! Really made class interesting and was extremely flexible and supportive. If you turn in everything with a little effort you're guaranteed a B...great teacher.

Haner was one of the best instructors I had. He is helpful and has lots of good insight. 109 is one of the best and definately the most useful class at UCSB, everyone should take it.

He is a wonderful teacher, very helpful and you learn a lot. Great for helping build your resume and learning how to write a business plan(this is very useful for all of you taking Econ 118).

This class is wonderful for anyone who wants to learn about current politics, if not then prepare for a boring quarter, but I thought it was a very useful class because I love learning about politics, he's also a very fair grader and a fun teacher.

He is an awesome teacher. For WRT 50, the class was on politics and he is a very interesting guy to have a discussion with. He is very fair in grading and always willing to help. Plus we watch daily show and even black bush...so yea he's a cool guy

Best 109EC professor for sure, he lectures but all you have is a resume portfolio and a group project, if you improve on resume and do a good presentation in group project it's a sure A. No lectures all you do is project and he is available after and outside class. Nice guy!
