He is funny, helpful, and clear. The subject matter could easily be boring but he uses interesting examples to liven up the material. The class is based on a curve, which helps a lot. Boosted my grade from a B+ to a solid A. Most of the material is common sense, just read the book and put some effort into it and you will be fine. I love Roney!!
Prof. Roney was clear and funny. The exams aren't hard if you follow the examples in class, since the questions are similar to what he covers.
I am an A student and this professor failed me. his class is very VERY dry and even though i knew the material like the back of my hand i still failed his final exam. this final exam is accumulative and he is not joking. I would HIGHLY suggest taking this class with another professor. I have never been more upset with a grade in my life.
This was a good class. His lectures are very clear and he does a good job of taking fairly dull material and making it interesting.
A professor who is evidence that UC professors are way more interested in their research than teaching classes. He is a cool guy and makes funny jokes, and is even a very clear lecturer, but he goes through material REALLY fast to get out early because he (and everyone else) could care less about the subject.
Has quite the attitude, sense of humor as described in other classes was very slimm, if any. Very hard on tests, lots of busywork in lab and vague on how you are doing on presentation and what you got graded on. Standoffish in office hours.Doesn't come close to Leda Cosmides' teaching and niceness in E.P. Dude: lighten up.
Definitely not what you expect when you hear the title of this class and a lot more about hormones than you'd expect. Questions are tricky and the reading is hard to tell apart from one another... all of his slides are online though which are great for studying.
Fun class! Prof Roney is funny and very clear. The readings are completely relevant to the lecture and reiterated very nicely by the Prof too. I'm enjoying this class, I would recommend it :)Don't expect any romance though, it's taught through a completely evolutionary prospective. Still, it makes sense and it's enjoyable. Have fun!

This is a difficult course and it is the only "B" I have received in all of college. He is a funny teacher but the material is dry and the tests are very hard.
Roney knows that psy 7 is the worst class ever. you can't make any of that material interesting. the class sucks but roney is a pretty funny guy. he likes to throw jokes in while he's lecturing because im sure he knows half the class is falling asleep. i took psy 7 w/ him in summer and got a B. reading the book and studying the notes=mandatory. bla
He is extremely boring and monotone. He puts all the powerpoint online, which is exactly what he says in class, so don't need to attend lecture. Tests are really tricky! You have to read the book! This class is super boring!!!
I attended every lecture and did all the reading and still didn't pass...funny guy but the material is really dry. He also admitted to making the exams and final very difficult...
Boring class that killed my GPA. He has a good sense of humor, but sometimes seemed to care more about his research than about teaching. Warning: it seems easy but it's not!
It's pretty easy if you go to class, because his examples show up in the tests, and the reading is really easy to understand and helps clarify fuzzy concepts. He's really funny and quirky if you pay attention and slips jokes and comments into his lectures because i'm sure even he gets bored by the class content.
the content is dull but him and everyone knows that. he tries to make the content a bit more interesting by having interesting examples and drops in a few jokes (noticed he had a thing with testicles)which are kinda funny. he's not a bad teacher, tries to engage the class by asking questions and constantly offers to answer questions
Psych 7 is not an easy class, or an interesting one, regardless of the prof. Roney did a great job trying to communicate this dull material. I would take another class from him. Don't hold it against him that you didn't like the class, nobody did. And how much can you trust someone who can't even spell "worse"?
Hes a great guy! Really tries to make a boring class interesting. He has a witty sense of humor and uses awesome examples to explain dry topics. Psych 7 is a boring tough class, and he did a great job with it.
he did the best he could at teaching this horrible class. the curve makes this class suck and even though the tests are hard they have to be so the curve upholds. his notes were pretty clear and if you needed outside help he was always available. good guy too..

Ok, there is no way around it, the subject material is boring, but he tries to do his best with it. He has a great humor about him that is that, "I know I'm not super funny, but I try." Although the class kinda sucked it wasn't him that made it suck and I ended up with a B+
he's nice guy doing some interesting research. he knows that no one takes this class by choice and tries to make the best of it, and even pokes fun at himself.
i found this class to be very hard, but I also have no interest in the subject material presented. His tests were hard, more based on conceptual knowledge instead of factual. He had no interest in the class, and provided no extra help through review sessions or a review sheet. Very boring, would recommend waiting for another teacher to teach it
HORRIBLE TEACHER! cant explain anything and doesnt even kno information himself. Oh ya and hes tests r very unclear and extreamly hard. Psy 7 is a hard class adn he just makes it soo much worst. Do urself a favor take this class with him.
