Funny guy. He admits right off that the material is dry, and he's right, but he trys to make up for the lack of excitement in the material with a good lecture, and does.

Nice guy, not nearly as boring as was expected.
This was the only class that fit with my schedule and i was not looking forward to the subject matter, but Woolley made political economics fun and interesting. The lectures were clear and organized and he likes to crack jokes once in a while to lighten the mood. I highly recomend this class.
woolley is fabulous. i learned important ideas and arguments in his class. his teaching style is clear but for some reason takes time to get used to. readings are complex and long. but he spends time explaining them and tying them into course themes. participation in class forum was successful but tedious. a very organized lecturer.great professor!
Easy A; if that's what you're looking for, go for it. The readings and the lectures are boring and not interesting. The quizzes are high-school style memorization exercises from the readings. No emphasize on broad concepts. Not worth the time.
Don't take this class. I love the topic, however the lectures are barely scratching the surface of the issues. Readings don't compliment lectures. Does not take criticism well. One of those guys that sees UCSB as a school of mediocre students. Not worthy of an upperdivion class.
wow, i love woolley. he is a hottie with a BODY!! seriously, he is one of those professors that makes it hard to pay attention in class. his lectures are clear and captivating. i never missed this class. i know some of the other ratings say its boring but this is not the case. two words: dead sexy.
the tests were fair and I liked the course assignment. pretty funny, too.
where do i start on this one... nevermind i give up. easy b. but so boring it'll make you want to poke your eyes out. he's really a nice guy tho. and his website and reserach are great but truthfully i dont' care enough.
Well organized, but not terribly interesting. Put powerpoints online. Tests weren't easy, but helpful if you've read.
I didn't like Woolley personally, and most of his lectures were boring, but the paper topics were really interesting, the tests were very reasonable, and the final's essay was fascinating and fun to write...much more mature topic/technique (not necessarily harder) than most professors allow
