I took this course in the summer. I'm not a big fan of english classes but she made it really interesting. Classes were mostly discussion, with some lecture on elements of the literature. Our grade was made up of daily homework and a take-home final. All the discussion and lecture points were useful for the final.
I've taken Writing 2, Engl 10, Engl 115, Engl 187, and an Independent Studies class with her. She is by far the best professor in the English department. She care more about your interest level than a stressful work-load. If you get the chance, take a class from her, even if it doesn't sound interesting.
I found her mother-ly. She cares for the overall well-bring of her students, academic or nonacademic issues. Good storyteller and relates life lessons to subject material. Might be intimidating at first, but shes totally approachable. She'll reach out to you if you reach out to her first.

Took her for summer.. really nice and loving teacher. She teaches both at CC and here. If you do all the work (which is easy) and coem to class every day. Its gauranteed A+.
Great class, great teacher. The books were fun to read and gave great insight into America and into the people who helped to shape it. Assignments were short and consistant; a bunch of 2-pagers, no big papers. All papers were personal responses, a great way to develop individual writing style. Reccomend this class, and any other taught by Cynthia.
Teacher was nice and helpful if you are willing to talk to her. Lets you out way early1!!!
BEST TEACHER OF MY LIFE. she is so helpful and extremely nice. if you have problems, just go up to her (DONT HESITATE) because she is willing to do what she can to make it understandable and enjoyable. TAKE THE CLASS...ITS AMAZING
Incorporates materials in class very well. Is very approachable and easy to talk to. All you have to do is do your work in the class, it is an easy A. I thought she was very clear and easy to understand. I was dreading taking this class, but she ended up making it one of my favorites so far.
She's really nice, and she really wants people to pass. But she isn't clear on what "mechanical errors" are, and marks you down a lot by them. If she had been upfront about some of those "errors", most people's grades would be a lot be
hmm all the negatives are coming from the freshman...makes sense..Well I thought that her class was an easy A. She lets you out early, shes approchable, all you gotta do is turn in your work on time.

avoid her at all cause? you obviously cannot write in the first place so why are u taking a writing class? davis is really easy but boring. 3 papers is your whole grade.
She sucks so bad i dont understanding why people even like her... prehaps it's just because she lets us out way early... but the class is a waste of time anyway, we dont ever do anything. although she is always available for us to ask her questions and stuff, i really dont think i learn anything from the class... AVOID HER AT ALL CAUSE!!!
HA-HA-HA..whoever said that she is nice and easy-going...it's sooo not true. with her fake smile and harsh grading scale, you can expect to get no more than a C in this class. i dont recommend this class at all. davis is such an evil.
only professor that i have heard of that goes on average less than an hour for a 2 hour writing 2 class. papers are really easy and she is really easy going and helpful.
Awesome teacher. She is very intersted in helping you with all your papers. Never goes more than 45 mins in a 2 hr class. She is very clear and her papers are reasonable. Take her class for sure!

Took Engl 10 for the minor and to get the req. out of the way. If you just want a class to go to and zone out this is it. No tests or long essays. Just reading and short "reader responses." She is one of those "any interpretation works" English teachers so there's pretty much no thinking involved.
