No technical guidance, avoid.

Prof Ilan is from EP. None of the project from EP. So you will learn nothing, easy A. Most projects are simpler than ECE5.

All you get is program management, dont take this class

Crystal clear lectures with a fair amount of homework. I was pretty busy the whole week. Midterm was super easy, but the final was pretty tough. I'm happy with my grade so I think he was fair overall.

Hmm? Ilan was a good lecturer with clear examples and concise explainations. I did decent on the midterm, hw, and lab reports but that final was just impossible. Got a disappointing grade because of a test that probably 75% of the class failed. This guy's tests are meant to trick you, so study hard and know everything completely.

Awesome class. He's a really cool guy and his lectures were really good. I only referred to the book a couple of times while doing the hmwk because most of the time I only needed my notes.

Cool guy, very helpful. Class is tough if you don't go to class. Must listen and take notes to do well. Start your homework early or else you will go insane and fail trying to do it the day before. Ask him if you have questions and he will help like crazy. Totally awesome class.

Really wants his students to get it, go to office hours because he'll spend as long as he needs to to make sure students understand, do the homework yourself, it pays off on tests

if you don't have any experience with programing prior to the class you might have a tough time. if you keep up on the the assignments (which are 50% of the class grade) you'll be ok. tests are pretty tough, study the example problems he gives you like crazy- they're really similar on the test

He gives sample problems to the midterm and final in class before he gives the actual tests.

Cool guy, easy to talk to in office hours and very helpful. Knows what he's talking about and willing to answer your questions in class too. Kind of tough class if you've never had programming but by the end you should understand it if you did the hw and took advantage of office hours..hw is 50%, make sure you can read code for tests!

He's a really nice guy and is very clear in lecture. Class is run off powerpoint slides which he puts online, so you can get away with missing a few classes (however he runs through examples and logic in class, so it IS beneficial to go). Tests aren't too diffcult - he tests to see if you know the material - doesn't try and trick you. Easy class

I go to class on principle, but you could probably do as well off his powerpoint notes; he basically reads them aloud and runs an example program in lecture. His expectations seemed very reasonable to me, and his grading fair. Don't skiv off homework--you need them to understand tests ( which are hard enough as it is) and for the points.

a decent teacher if you've had prior programming experience or interest in the subject, but otherwise, he probably wouldn't be very helpful or interesting.

His test are killer! The hw can be a bit much but if you go to his office hours you should be ok. In lecture he does put a lot of effort to try and make things clear. If you're taking this class you're an engineering mayor, so if you're having trouble get tutoring through the college of engineering (talk to Yvonne Freeman).

It was a course on programming with C and Mathlab. He used Powerpoint to demostrate a lot of sample programs, and ran through the logic in class. Programming homework made up a very large portion of the grade. This is good. Even your exam was not very good, the homework could help you a lot. The exams were not hard, but think about logic carefully.

Maybe not the best in terms of teaching skills, but he is certainly nice and approachable. Exams are easy, and he graded pretty easily too. No reason to give 1 in any of the ratings.

Super clear, nice, helpful. If you go to class, you will learn the material easily. Can get a little boring, some homework and tests are tedious.
