I, too, signed up for the class that was supposed to review the US history of the 20th century; however, the teacher was reluctant to cover anything else, but the history of labor... As a result, the class was extremely boring... Don't take him unless you are a labor-history maniac!

Worst. Professor. Ever. I signed up expecting a general history of the 20th century and all I got was labor and some union guy named Walter Reuther. He promises to explain everything, but the only thing he does is get on his soapbox and spout his political opinions. He's super unclear, unorganized, and doesn't articulate anything in the end. Evil.

The worst professor I have ever had! He spent way too much time discussing labor history in a class that was supposed to be general US history. Lectures were very unorganized, and also very biased and he was not clear about what information was actually important. His tests consisteted of questions on information he did not discuss at all.

Very knowledgable about history of American Labor. Good lectures.

Don't get me started. Seems like a highly intelligent, albeit it opinionated man, with a great interest for the subject. However, lectures were scattered and often extremely biased. Had a good TA though, and always went to class/read so I got an A. Not so

this **** screwed me over at the end. anything above 30% on the final would've given me an A. I scored well above that and the fuokur gave me a C

lectures were boring sometimes, but I loved how excited he would get when some one asked a question. He obviously loves whay he's teaching and is very knowledgable about it. Exams were long, but fair. Papers were interesting, but be careful who you get for your ta.

Awesome professor- fun, lively lecturer. Lots of ppoint and videos in class. Left-leaning because he is chair of labor studies/unions at UCSB. Don't know about other people, I missed half the classes but got AS Notes and got an A+

The lectures are ramblings and tangents, I found this out when I tried to study for the final and found that my lecture notes were of no help. He is a very nice guy thou and is very into the topic, but the lectures are just too hard to follow.

Typical left-wing rantings; prepare to be brainwashed.

Awesome class. If you don't like History, however, then you probably won't like it. Prof. Lichtenstein really gets into the ins and outs of the course subject and as long as you go to lecture you should be fine. No midterm, hands-out final study guide.

I hated this class. I never liked history and now I really dont like it. Hes a nice old man, but his lectures are so broad that it's hard to tell what he wants you to know.
