Best Writing 2 Professor at UCSB. To get an A, don't miss more than 3 class meetings, and everything else is completion-based. He treats you like a friend, not like a student, and understands that life happens. Please take his class!

By far my favorite professor I've had at UCSB. He truly cares about his students and understands life happens. He is clear about his expectations and grading policy from the start, but is always willing to work with you. The workload itself is not bad, and is there to help you complete the bigger assignments (projects 1, 2, & final portfolio).

Really nice guy and very chill, has clear grading that is mostly based on completion/effort and showing up. Would definitely take again and recommend.

Take this course if you have any interest in video games, coding, or both. Dave makes this class incredibly fun and engaging for everyone, 100% would take again.

GOAT. He is so caring and attentive to his students. Gives really good and genuine feedback and accessible outside of class. Loved his humor and lectures!

Professor Nikityn made my first quarter genuinely enjoyable, something I never thought I'd say about a writing class. He creates a very welcoming and supportive environment, which was especially meaningful to me as a first-generation college student. He explains assignments clearly and grading is very easy to follow. Highly recommend!!
