WALKER F M
So disorganized and unclear. Unfair policies about absences for things like medical excuses. Way too much content thrown at us at once without supplemental readings given, the manuals are messy and hard to follow.
Same as the other reviews: unorganized class, confusing lab manuals, labs are unnecessarily long, lectures are not helpful at all. Professor Walker seems to only invest the bare minimum into this course.
Faye is disorganized and disconnected from the class in general. When she lectures, it feels as if she is reading the slides for the first time. In addition, her lectures in no way make lab expectations more clear. On top of all of this, Faye lacks empathy. It seems she doesn't care about this class, and cares less about her students.
This lab series was made much more difficult than necessary due to lack of communication and confusing lab manuals. The manuals are very vague and hard to follow, and the content is not clarified by the professor. The TAs do their best but are given no assistance by the professor. Possibly the worst lab at UCSB and that's saying something.
This class is very unorganized involving labs that cannot be completed during the given lab time. She does not help students succeed or empathize. TAs are just as confused as the students because she is very disconnected from the lab and only shows up to the lectures. Lab manual is copied from previous profs and is horribly written.
Professor Walker is incredibly unorganized, very bad at explaining concepts, and seems to lack the desire for her students to succeed. She is incredibly unhelpful, and there are often discrepancies between her lectures and the procedures undergone in the lab -- it is clear that she doesn't have any idea what is going on in her TA-run lab sections.
