Really wish to continue the series taught by Prof. Zhou. Seems he is not teaching this quarter. He is my GOAT.
love him #king
When I was looking into rate of my professor in grad school, I realized how much I appreciate Prof. Zhou. He always took the time to answer my questions until everything made sense. His constant encouragement and reminders not to doubt myself really boosted my confidence and kept me going on my path to grad school.
Everyone says 6B's kinda weird — most profs just speed-run vector calc and then randomly jump into series with zero connection. But honestly, Prof. Zhou made the class super chill and actually fun. His lectures were kinda slow sometimes, but I feel like I finally get vector calc now. Plus, the math activities were pretty entertaining
His lectures do what lectures do except his class is so slow we end up not covering Fourier series like some of the past cohorts. His exams are easy but unoriginal and uncreative, they become merely a linear combination of regurgitating facts. The worst thing? Bro uses \overrightarrow{} (not even \vec{}!) to represent UNIT vectors. As a math prof.
I have no comment on the teaching because I did not attend any lectures but the material was so easy and the exams were really straightforward. Attendance was taken purely for extra credit and you could earn up to 8% of extra credit towards the final grade outside of attendance too. Seems like a very nice guy too.
Doing the midterm reflections was a great chance to learn and hear different perspectives. It really helped create a supportive environment IMO.
Nice professor. Contents are well–organized and explanation are clear.
Couldn't ask for more in a professor. Explained everything you needed to know, and the homework and exams weren't too bad.
He is always caring for students and willing to help them. Exams are somewhat difficult but he offers bonus points as long as you would like to put efforts.
Dr. Zhou is super accessible outside of class in office hours. His midterm extra credit is helpful, and his in depth study guides make sure students know the general flavor of exams. He will never give you a problem you have seen before on an exam, but with studying, they are certainly do-able.
its a really hard class but prof zhou is super understanding, is willing to help you understand the material, and is very accessible outside of lectures. he also offered extra credit opportunities for the midterms by doing reflections and presentations.
