YAN Z X
Wasn't the best professor at teaching but gave exams that were exactly as the practice test making it very easy. I appreciated the easy A but if you want to learn everything fully, might not be the best.
A laughable class: All exams completely online and multiple choice, and even the lectures and notes were uploaded. Impossible to fail and a relief after previous math classes. I rarely went to lecture, but he seems like a super nice guy with lots of office hours. If you really want to master the content and learn every detail, choose someone else.
YYDS!
Such an amazing 6A class. Both midterms and final completely online, weekly quizzes also online (and tell you the correct answers after 1st attempt, even though you get 5 attempts). Doesn't take attendance. He is a confusing lecturer and hard to understand, but I just signed up for CLAS and never went to lecture ever. Got an A+ so easily.
His practice exams are almost exactly like midterm/final except for one or two questions on them. Because of this I was fine with skipping lectures and then just reviewing the material that is on the practice exams. We were allowed front and back cheat sheets for exams and he didn't care what you put on them. It was an easy A if you practiced.
This professor is pretty nice and passionate. The exam is easy if you do the sample midterms carefully. I really recommend this.
Cool guy
Heavy accent, boo hoo get over it. He is not that bad, especially when compared to other math professors here. The main ones complaining abt yan prolly are that one econ major friend you have who parties every weekend, and even they got a good grade prolly. Just study the study guide and do the hw, you will be fine.
The exams are easy, and the homework load is very low. He is a very good teacher!
Best teacher ever, 100% recommend if you are taking Math 3B, grading is very clear, quiz is reasonable. Professor Yan yyds.
This professor is very hard to understand and frequently solves problems wrong/skips over steps when solving problems (as if assuming you know them already). Barely gained anything from lectures. However, the study guides for the midterm and final were basically identical to the exams. Basically gives you the A if you can teach yourself.
Beware of Zetian Yan. His lectures are impossible to follow. He speaks far too quick, he doesn't explain his process or the material. He simply solves the problem and expects you to know what he did. When a question is asked, he doesn't answer it clearly, rather leaves me more confused. Lots of homework, but the homework is better than the lecture.
