Lectures are decent, grading is fair. The content of this course is challenging in and of itself, but I did not feel particularly hindered by this professor. Nothing stands out as excellent or terrible.

Easily the worst professor I have had at UCSB. He is incapable of giving a proper lecture and the tests are ridiculously hard and seemingly outside the scope of what we should reasonably know.

avoid this prof like the plague, especially for math 8.

Literally the best math teacher I have had at UCSB. He gives a ton of extra credit in assignment and exams, so you can easily make up if you mess up a component. Worksheets are very detailed and spell out exactly what one needs to learn. Only issue I had was that the sections did not connect well with lectures but that seems more like a TA issue

Please do not take this professor for your Math 8 class. He goes through lectures so fast and expects his students to understand it quickly. Basically, I do not think he knows how to teach. The homework is literally so hard for no reason. And the midterm and the final were so hard that I was literally on verge of tears taking these. Avoid him

Don't let the name fool you. He is as peaceful as they come.
