Quizzes and final were unfair to the lecture material. None that he taught in class really showed up in the final. I took him last fall 2022. Practice problems were really hard, and basically had to self-teach it because the professor just read off the slides and notes were really easy. Info was not applicable to any of the quizzes or exams.
I took Pstat171 last quarter as an elective class, and he is extremely tough. He just read the slides and left class. Never posted anything to really help students understand material. 4 quizzes and final are your grade, you'll study for hours bc first quiz will hurt. And don't think you're good bc you score the average on the rest, you are not.
Dr. Loke really made this class a lot less daunting than what most people make it out to be. Grades are determined by exams, but he provides practice problems that help do well on the exams. Understand concepts and go OH if you don't understand. He grades more leniently as he doesn't punish for incorrect answers which is what I heard some profs do.
