Earl is a great teacher. Class is not hard, you just need to read (1/3 of the grade). Gives you the exact midterm a week in advance with an exact point breakdown of each question. All these haters above are a self-selecting population of people who probably slacked off and didn't like their grade. WTF, Queen of Scots? I recommend this class.

great teacher! lectures are interesting and well organized. reading logs are due every class, but helps you keep up with the readings, which is crucial for exams. would def take another class with her :)

By far the best teacher I have had yet. Great teacher, informative, classes were interesting, informative, enlightening, the readings were on-line so you save a ton of $$. If you do the homework and show up you will have an "A" She is fair, and nice, great film clips to illustrate her points. I LOVED THIS CLASS!!!!Take this professor!!!!!!!!!

Professor Earl is extremely bright and organized. Class lectures are clear and her enthusiasm for the subject is palpable. In office hours, she is attentive and provides useful feedback. In addition, she makes time for students and sets high standards for mentoring. Glad to know her, and you will be too!

Great teacher, easy to follow and do well if you just pay attention and do the readings. Lousy during office hours, like she uses up all her positive energy during class and you are left with her deadpan stares and TOTAL lack of humor. I tried to do honors contract with her but couldn't deal with her lack of encouragement? interest? in office.
