He is fair to everyone, even though the Final is hard. So, try to do more problems. You will do well in this class.
This professor wrote what is probably the single most impossible test I've ever taken for the PSTAT 120A final in summer 2021, then dealt with students' feedback on said final incredibly unprofessionally. If you value your grade, don't take his classes.
Park is an okay professor in my view. The midterm was hard but doable, the final was one of the hardest things I've ever taken at UCSB, I could not figure out how to do the last two questions at all. The homework was based on the completion and the quizzes were fairly easy. I would say the only unreasonable part of his class was the final.
Very Strict professor, harsh grader, not willing to see the students struggle in the class and makes impossible exams that he thinks will identify out who are the real excellent A student. The test's difficulty goes beyond what is covered in lectures, homework, and quizzes and would require self-study on advanced concepts without any guidance.
homework is easy enough, quizzes are fine, TESTS ARE THE WORST IVE EVER TAKEN. his lectures are an absolute abomination- too long, messy handwriting, incoherent. there is a course textbook but lectures are so disorganized that i don't even know what im supposed to read. did not learn ANYTHING, and i usually get As in math. NEVER TAKE THIS PROFESSOR
I get his point that 120A is supposed to be a hard class and good grades are to be given to excellent students. It's his actual approach to teaching the class that falls short. His writing in the lecture video is messy and explanation of concepts is not clear. His Mt was kinda hard but doable, but his final difficulty was on a whole other galaxy.
