Assessments were extremely difficult.

This professor was very clearly inexperienced at leading a good online course. Lectures are very incomplete and hard to understand + she doesn't cover all the topics but expects you to know everything for the quizzes, midterm, final. Final is worth 50% of grade and no answer keys are ever posted for HW, quiz or practice problems, didn't learn much

She is disorganized and her lectures are not that great at explaining the concepts. The tests are worth a lot and have material that is not really covered. The answers to the quizzes, practice midterm, and midterm were not posted so it was at times unhelpful for studying. I found it quite hard to learn in this class.

Hard test, tough grader.

Mengye is very sweet and tries her best to help students out, but she's inexperienced. Her grading scale was very unclear and no one knew what grade they were going to get until final grades were out, and grade submission was late. The final was barely related to the course and impossible to solve, though to her credit she didn't write the test.

Not very accessible outside the class. Almost never replies to emails. Exams are EXTREMELY HARD and VERY UNRELATED like previous quizzes, HWs, nor practice exams. Never explain the grading rubric. Just tell us "it's based on % and don't worry". We don't even know how many ppl will get an A! Is that about top 10%? or top 15%? Do U even have a plan?

Mengye is a great teacher and gives the course in a clear structured and concise manner. Very understanding towards the students and help students with problems if they don't understand. While the class is difficult but her test and grading are fair. She don't give a clear grading scale since she is on your side and curve to your favor.
