This class was so much reading. Be ready to read a book a week. The books themselves were all very enjoyable, and lectures were great supplements to help understand what was going on. McCants is super super caring and accommodating. Essays were graded fairly leniently IMO, but I did not get any grades until the last week with my TA, so beware.

The class was really reading-heavy but the books are interesting and her lectures break them down well. Essays are very manageable and the quizzes are easy to do well on if you do the readings. Professor McCants was super approachable, and her extension policy is incredibly lenient. Wonderful class and prof, couldn't recommend enough.

She's such a sweet professor that makes the class feel fun! By the end of it, it was feeling like a book club in the best way. McCants makes science fiction even more fascinating and she's so funny while doing so!

Tough grader - lectures are mostly summaries of the novels and do not warrant her expectations for her students writing . Extremely time consuming class, requiring students to read about 300 pages a week on top of multiple forum posts & quizzes. Felt that the course had good readings, but she provided very little insight to the texts.

Professor Kristy broke down the material clearly & made Shakespeare really accessible! as long as you do the reading and keep up with participation, you should be ok. She's really nice and she's great at teaching and checking in with students. Could not recommend a better person for teaching English.
