Prof Johnson is a caring instructor. In remote instruction, she made nearly all the class asynchronous and made alternative time for students in another time zone. The course setup is challenging as well as interesting. There are two WPs and a final portfolio, but for the portfolio it is just posting both the WPs. Pay attention and you will get A.

Julie is a great, inspirational teacher who really cares for her students. It was evident that she held a knack for teaching when she created an environment where students felt comfortable and eager to participate. Julie was always ready to help you become a better writer during, before, and after class. Julie is among the best UCSB has to offer!

Really nice professor, tries to make the class fun, and is easily accessible if you have any questions. Can be a little confusing figuring out what's due each week, but this might not be a problem in person. Grade is composed of participation, journals, two writing projects, and a final portfolio. Easy to pass if you put in the work!
