Very sweet teacher and is very understanding. Her lectures are very easy to follow through, just make sure you're going to class and doing your homework.

This class was exceptionally hard for Spanish 1. There were large stretches of class that were just in Spanish. You absolutely will need to purchase SuperSite access as that is where all of the hw is, of which there is a lot. The written assignments were graded incredibly harshly, and I don't think I knew a single person to get 100%

-very little cohesion between lectures and assignments/online work -unrealistically high expectations for a comprehension and abilities of students who are brand new to Spanish -future students should expect much of the course to be self-taught

Professor Murugarren is great! She is super caring and sweet, and also funny. The class is a lot of work, though, because the meetings were 4 times a week for an hour, plus 3 short essays, homework, readings, and Linguameeting.

Azucena is the best Spanish teacher I have ever had!! She goes out of her way to help every student succeed and puts forth effort to make personal connections with her students. She is an incredibly fair grader and makes everyone feel comfortable participating in class regardless of their confidence in their Spanish. I highly, highly recommend her!

She was easily the kindest Spanish teacher I have ever had throughout middle school, high school, and college. She is so kind and nonjudgmental, it's so easy to participate in class. She cultivates a safe learning environment where we all feel cared for. I am taking Spanish 5 with her next quarter. You'll love her class, she's amazing.
