Took this class for fall quarter online and it was great. Dr. Treitler is an amazing professor and I loved this class so much. Weekly forum posts but as long as you do them the TA grades pretty easy. Lectures are async but section is synchronous. There are two projects, one where you make a short podcast and a final one where you write a letter.

Treitler has such a kind soul. She is generous and it is very easy to establish a connection with her, which will b helpful when you need questions answered. The class was very easy to follow, and Treitler taught it mostly through excerpts from articles and documentaries. Overall, if you stay on top of the work, it is an easy course to take.
