Evan is very understanding and passionate about music. His piano skills are also really impressive. Isn't a tough grader and is helpful when you have a question. It was a joy being in his section and he made learning music theory a great experience as I tend to struggle with it. He also had engaging sections which were not a bore to attend

Evan was great! I have studied music theory for about 9 year so this class was a breeze but I loved watching his lectures anyway. You can really tell how passionate he is about music. He has worksheets and quizzes throughout the quarter. One midterm, a final, and a final project. The project was either analysis or composition and was super fun.

Music theory isn't super intuitive for me but Murnane was super flexible and offered many opportunities to improve your grade in the class!

This class is very much if you try to learn you will even if you have no musical background. I am very much not musically talented and found it hard to wrap my brain around but was fun to be able to listen to the lectures.

This class was very doable for a GE and Evan structured this class very clearly. The material was fairly easy to follow and his review sessions were detailed and lengthy.
