the weekly homework was so time consuming and the quizzes were so long sometimes. shes a very knowledgable professor and is lenient with due dates when you talk to her, she also answers all your questions and is a polite person but could have been a less heavy load. the lectures are mad long
Her lectures are sooooo long and dense, and the weekly quizzes often involved tiny details from the lectures. She's really caring and willing to give extensions. Definitely an easy A if you can sit through the 2 hour pre-recorded lectures.
Time consuming weekly quizzes and HW and *very* dense lectures, but it's not a difficult class. Instead of exams, we had a pretty standard group project.
Online, the class is very straightforward. The lectures are really interesting and Scruggs seems super chill. There's one quiz, one hw and one participation points question due each week that do take a little bit of your time but not labor intensive. There's also one group project that is pretty simple, with good research.
easy class easy life
Great class. The content can be very bland but interesting when you learn about specific disasters. Especially how COVID relates to disasters. The quiz is very specific and does require good memory/good notes/study from textbook. The homework is time consuming. There was a group project instead of midterm. Overall professor was very kind and funny!
There are quizzes every week that are super hard and take hours to complete. The quizzes have a lot of material in them that she does not cover in lecture so you have to read the 50 pages she assigns if you want to do good on the test. Doesn't post the lecture slides so you have to watch the whole lecture. I do not recommend this teacher
