I took Italian 1 as a hybrid course, and I loved it. Since it was a hybrid course there was a lot of homework at times, with a quiz about every two weeks plus writing assignments. Overall, I loved this class and Professor Sarnelli. Shes really nice and fair, I defiantly recommend taking a class with her.

Only time I have ever left a review in here and probably the only time I ever will. I loved her so much, by FAR my favorite professor I have ever had. Treats ever

Professor Laura is an amazing teacher and made Italian very easy and fun to learn. Quizzes every other 2 weeks a total of 4 but not too bad if you study for them. Gives clear instructions is very patient wants her students to succeed.

I love Prof. Sarnelli. She is super nice, fun, and respectful. Texts can sometimes be slightly tricky, but as long as you put an effort she is super understanding. Class started with a student presentation on some material and followed up by a lecture by the prof mixed with discussion. Instead of a final exam we had a project which was a fun twist.

Prof. Sarnelli is super nice and caring. She can also be pretty funny. Every class someone presents about the homework material and then she continues it with more slides. Readings can be hard but class helps it all make sense. Not a hard grader, especially if you show that you're making an effort. Definitely would take her again.

A pretty good introduction class! She sometimes didn't give great feedback when it gave to assignments (lost points with no commentary), but she's a very patient lecturer. She's also pretty funny. Homework/tests were totally manageable, and the projects weren't that difficult as long as you put in some effort in studying.

Professor Sarnelli had great teaching skills. I learned Italian easily. Participation is common for the class, but most of the questions she provides are easy as long as you go through the exercise the night before or listen throughly as she explains the topic.

Best foreign language professor in UCSB. Lectures are super clear, once you give effort, I am sure you will receive a pretty good grade.

If you're looking for a foreign language class to get your GE's out of the way definitely take Italian with Professor Sarnelli. It's a really easy class and she's a great professor as well.

Laura's class is by far in my top 3 of classes I've ever taken at UCSB (I'm a bio major). The material was fascinating & I really appreciated how much she enforced Italian only in the classroom. I'd only taken up to Ital 3 so it was a bit daunting at first, I spent a lot of time on the readings but all worth it. We even get to watch a few films!

I really enjoyed her class, it reminded me of a high school class. She's very funny and you get to know her because the class size is small. The class is worth 5 units but she made it extremely easy and fun to learn so it did not seem difficult at all. You don't need the textbook since she posts screenshots, you just need the online hw access.

Dr Sarnelli is a very sweet and nice professor! She is really patient in class, and she grades pretty easy on quizzes and assignments. She will always go over the review materials one by one in class before quiz and exam. Overall, a super great professor!
