Good professor, clear lecture and instructions. You know what is expected for tests and class but sometimes his grading is a little funky.
i've taken 2 classes with this prof simply because they're very easy classes- you can do really well without doing any of the readings or watching the assigned videos. assignments and weekly forum posts are all relatively simple and the midterm and final were both online multiple choice. super boring lectures and definitely not an engaging class
The class itself was pretty easy but the professor never wanted to interact with anyone in the class. One midterm and one final, all multiple choice and they were relatively easy as long as you pay attention during lecture. Reading the textbook is required but you can get by without it.
This professor is much more interested in his research than teaching. During online lecture, he would merely read off of some pre-written script so insanely fast that it's difficult to follow along. Assignments were very easy, and there is no need to purchase the textbook. Keeping up with lectures is key to success.
GEOG5 with this professor was online with 5 assignments and 2 exams: 1 midterm and 1 final. I have to say that he is hands down the most unassuming person I've encountered. Our final class was a short inspirational speech in which he revealed he is a true warrior. He encouraged us, above all, to believe in ourselves and to be bold and curious.
Started this term by listing the multiple awards he's received throughout his career. He even has a Wikipedia page. You could never tell from taking this class. It is an asynchronous course. All of the assignments are either tedious or insanely easy, and all the exams were on GS. No need to do the readings either.
Took his class in 2020 spring. Easy to pass. But it seems that he didn't care about student's need at all. Also unclear descriptions about the time of tests. Anyway I just regret that I took his class.
He is disorganized for online courses and messed up everyone's first test because of his tech problems. Also, he make students at different time zone get up early to take quiz.
His homework seems easy but takes up extremely lot amount of time to do well. The online courses and tests are not organized with he making some technical mistakes that should be figured out way before. He is making students of different time zones getting up at 5 am for quizzes, which is insensitive of him and unnecessarily painful.
Online quizzes make students get up at 5 am in the morning, which is extremely painful.
Actually felt like tuition was worth it. Not at all hard to grasp material and he really tries to make it relevant to issues and processes today, really makes you think. Cares for students and their goals; literally had a speech to that effect. Tests and assignments were fair, need to simply know concepts to apply them. Easy A, but substantial.
