Since it's a graduate class I thought I would about real Big Data. Turns out he teaches you how to code in spark. This thing should take about 10 min if you read spark documentation, so basically this class is just a waste of time. Most of the material you're already learn in machine learning classes, so I don't know why he's teaching it.

He doesnt know much about the material, so basically he just read the textbook.

Tough and tricky tests. Pop up quizzes. He looked like hes not in the teaching mood in EVERY SINGLE DAY. didnt respond to any emails after the final. NEVER TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Kloke is the type of professor that dreads to teach. He comes into class with the most monotone attitude ever and spends the whole lecture reading from the slides. He does not look like he wants to be here, and as someone who is genuinely trying to learn, it can be quite discouraging.

this class was okay, he does speak a bit too soft so it can rather feel monotone at times, and study so you can be prepared for the random quizzes

Easy class if you know how to code. This class should not be thought at ucsb. Its a waste of everyones time. Useless class. Syllabus is fake news.

pstat 130 isn't that hard but he does speak in a very low voice so sit nearby so you can hear what he says. Gives pop quizzes in class so show up. He doesnt like it when ppl speak in class. Tests are similar to examples in practice tests provided.
