I spent countless hours doing independent research to cumulate academic citations which the papers require and many more piecing the assignments together. The papers are structured based on the professor's preferences and will not mirror any paper you have written before. Additionally, don't expect to receive timely grading or proper feedback.

This class is super interesting, but it does have a lot of reading. Prof. Wohl is a little boring to listen to but the material is still engaging and relevant. Attendance is taken randomly. The papers are only 4-5 pages, and you choose your topics so you can focus on your interests. My grade will probably be NG due to the strike but I expect an A.

Idk if anyone's going to look here when deciding to do a thesis, but thought I'd do this in case. Wohl is an amazing professor! She is so genuinely caring and accommodating - she definitely made writing a long thesis less overwhelming. She can even be too nice sometimes (if that's possible). I would recommend doing a thesis if you're on the fence.

i don't get why she has bad reviews prof wohl is a really good prof! this class was super interesting and she was very organized in her content and expectations! there were only four papers, no final and sometimes she'd take random attendance with a short question to answer at the end of class. super easy!!

I have no idea why there are bad reviews! This class was very interesting and although she is a bit monotone, the lecture content was engaging and she encouraged a lot of class discussion. I highly recommend this class if you are interested in pop culture/art. She is also very sweet and accommodating!

She seems very nervous and is always twirling her hair. 4 papers and she is a tough grader. although she seems like a nice person I would not take her again. You also never know when she will take attendance so you must be in class

Very nice woman who definitely cares about the topic! It was fascinating to learn about creative industries. Some people judge her for being nervous or using her hands a lot but I think it shows interest and flair. Id take her again!

shes nice but always looks like she's nervous/tense in front of the class since she uses her hands too much when talking (if you take her you will get what I mean). 4 papers (3 worth 25%, 1 worth 10%). she grades the attendance sign in sheet (worth 15%) since she also asks a question about her lecture and ur answer is graded based on content

Professor Wohl is sweet at the least, however her lectures are incredibly boring and dull. The class itself was interesting, so it was a bummer her lack of experience in lecturing set the tone so early in the quarter. I truly had a hard time showing up to class. Just read the academic readings and follow the paper instructions very carefully!

Such an interesting class! Highly recommend! Uses current pop culture to keep you interested and to stay relevant. Graded on 3 papers and 1 short 2 pager for the final along with attendance. If you meet all the points on the papers thoroughly it is so easy. Plus, you get to pick which industry to write about. Great lecturer. Loved this class.

Not really sure why she has lots of negative feedback, she is a really great teacher who has clear teaching skills. Loved her a lot, should not be a problem if you attend class.

Very difficult course as far as grading goes, I would stay away if I could.
