Overall very funny, approachable & made class engaging! There was a lot of material presented during each lecture, but the slides were formatted so that they were easy to follow, & the prof provided more than enough explanation for each topic. Tests are lecture-based so as long as you take notes you'll be ok. One of the better profs I've had so far

Really great instructor! Very thoughtful and responsive to my concerns, and help me a lot during the office hours. The material was diverse, but as long as you take good notes, the exams are not difficult. Still working on the final paper so I don't know what grade I'll get, but it shouldn't be bad.

Taking this class I was scared as to the information from a perspective of someone who has never really known anything about Japan. But he talked slowly enough to take notes and explained everything really well. Test are kinda hard but you'll do well if you just studied the lectures. Very funny and overall knowledgeable in his field. no textbook!
