Professor Williams creates an amazing, inspiring, and enthusiastic classroom environment. This class is incredibly valuable and sets the bar high for every ES course. Deborah is the best professor I've ever had—I learned so much and wish I could take this class again and again.

Took Prof Williams for ENV S 159 (Public Lands) and absolutely loved her class! She's so inspirational, has an extensive, hands-on history/experience working in the field, is clearly passionate about her work, and makes an effort to connect with her students. Read the material before class, actually make an effort, and you'll do fine.

Hard, yet extremely valuable class. Her extensive personal public land law and policy experience, and the guest speakers, send this class to a level above most undergrad classes. Speak up, participation matters. Written and oral testimony was a time crunch, probably easier during a full quarter. Pulls direct from study guides for midterm and final.

Professor Williams is VERY passionate in her work and I find that very inspirational. Overall, a lot of work and you must be very attentive, but her personality and passion for the subject makes you enjoy the class and the subject greatly. I would definitely take her again, but expect to know a lot of information. Lots of quizzes. Fair grader.

Had Professor Williams for Public Lands over the summer. She made an effort to know every student's name, impressive career history and can speak from experience on public land issues. Study guides for tests very helpful, final presentation graded fairly. Attendance taken & participation matters. Great class and professor!
