Ms Valadez was a very nice teacher and always gave time to work on performances during class. There were also lots of opportunities for feedback. Only complaint I have is that she seemed a little unorganized and not of lot of assignments were ever graded. Besides that, I enjoyed the class a lot.

I hardly regard professor Valadez as a teacher but a friend. Her class is really more like afternoon tea with a dozen of interesting folks rather than lecture. If you wanna take THTR5, she's the best choice.

IF YOU WANT TO TAKE INTRO TO ACTING, TAKE PROFESSOR VALADEZ! She's incredible and builds that connection with her students. While the online platform has been hard to adjust to, she'll extend a deadline to accommodate you. One of the best professors I've ever had.

I was very unhappy with Prof. Valadez as a teacher. We barely cover any actual material in lecture because she's unable to remain on one topic for more than a few minutes. She frequently contradicts both herself and the textbook, and instructions are often unclear. She was also rude to a student because their star sign didn't "match" their behavior

Fun class, forced me to get out of my comfort zone (in a good way). 50% of grade is participation, so show up to every class and actively participate. Improvisation exercises/games were enjoyable. Incorporate Jessica's feedback in your performances (based on the previews you show her), and you will get a good grade.

BEST CLASS AT UCSB! It was super engaging and always made me laugh. Only one solo performance for the final, the rest are in groups. Don't be intimidated if you're not a theater major because there were plenty of us in there. Only a few readings outside of class & 2 mandatory plays with write ups. Really fun and engaging material. Awesome GE!
