He is very helpful, perhaps too helpful. He really spend a lot of time to explain stuffs that people don't really understand, but that makes the class a bit too slow. However, I guess pchem for biochem students isn't really a tough course, so he's probably a fairly reasonable professor.
Professor Sepunaru has to be one of the best professors I've had so far. His lectures are engaging and really makes you think about the real life implications of the stuff you learn. He is extremely encouraging and is there to help you succeed. Go to office hours and don't be afraid to ask questions.
Three words: For The Students. Dr. Sepunaru is my favorite professor at UCSB and for good reason, his lectures are interactive and make you think about real biological applications of the course content. As a biochemistry major in the MCDB department, I'm sad that I can't take more classes with him at the helm. Take this class with him if you can!
Lior is one of the best professors I've had so far as a junior at UCSB. He takes his time in lecture to make sure everyone understands. His office hours are very interesting and helpful as well. I would totally recommend having him as a professor.
Prof. Sepunaru's honor class was probably trying to cover a semester worth of topic in a month and expecting student to have in-depth understanding in contrast to regular chemistry elsewhere. He did amazing lectures, but if you skipped reading then the lecture will be very demanding. Grading was very generous, like I don't feel I deserve the grade
Overall, Professor Sepunaru was a good lecturer. Homework was very time-consuming and required you to read the textbook and do some research. Go to his office hours because they provide helpful details about homework and exams. However, his homework and lectures don't prepare you enough for the exam so make sure you digest the topics thoroughly.
Professor Sepunaru was a great lecturer. Each lecture was structured to maximize engagement and often consisted of topics that were both important and interesting. He was easy to reach outside of class and regularly hosted office hours, which were almost like extra lecture sessions each week. Exams were difficult, but they inspired people to think!
One of the best chemistry professors I have experienced. I enjoyed the straightforward communication when any confusion occurred. Also, the lecture is fluent in that it depends on the students' struggles. Although this had some downsides (not able to cover the entire topic), valuing the students' understanding of the concepts was great.
Simply the best professor I had. His lectures and exams are intellectually demanding and he expected you to have a much deeper understanding of the concept compared to Chem 1B. Much emphasis is put on mathematical proof and if you have poor background in calculus (like me) you will suffer. However it still worth the price because he is amazing
One of the best educators I have had! If you have a genuine interest in the material you will succeed. Although content is inherently tough, as he pulls heavily from physical chemistry topics, the applications in exams are doable if you truly understand the material conceptually. Go to office hours! He is very accessible and friendly.
Dr. Sepunaru is one of the most down to earth professors in this department. Unlike some of the professors in this department who will laugh in your face for asking dumb questions or rush through material without explanation, he really teaches for your understanding. Pchem is still difficult, but the vibes of his classes are phenomenal.
100% my favorite professor at UCSB. He so easily grabbed my attention every lecture. I loved how he makes a lecture feel like a small discussion section by asking many questions. All of his assessments were reasonably fair and graded very easily. Everything was communicated very clearly and overall, he made this class a good experience.
