Definitely recommend, even if not typically interesting in subjects like linguistic. Feels at the start that it is much harder than it really will be, so stick it out. All of her lectures are super relatable and relevant and she always keeps it interesting! Not too many assignments and the few are easy and there is just a final, no midterm.
Great lecturer. Very funny and good at answering questions. Only 5 assignments and 1 final throughout the course. So knowledgable, passionate, and nice.
She's so funny, she always brings in vines and clips to show in class. She tries to always keep the lectures interactive and interesting though some topics aren't. Some quizzes based on a accumulation of past weeks but nothing too difficult. Weekly writings that can sometimes be interesting.
Calhoun was amazing. Being her 1st time teaching, she did a great job explaining the (interesting) content w/ modern examples (vines, funny videos, GIFS). She's clearly passionate and caring. The workload can be considered "much" (reading responses every week that are easy) & 4 assignments, but if you go to lecture or read, it's completely doable.
She's a great professor and really wants everyone to learn in her class. She has super fun lectures and is a vine addict which leads her to put many iconic vines in her lecture slides. Take her if you get the chance. There was no midterm, instead, there were online open note quizzes. The final was difficult yet doable, definitely study concepts.
Pretty awesome teacher. She uses vines to teach certain concepts which is pretty awesome. A lot of assignments and reading responses every week, which is not awful, but it's still a lot. She is nice about asking questions and she makes everything super relatable. Great professor
MOST INCREDIBLE INSTRUCTOR. seriously, not only is this material itself incredibly interesting, so is the instructor! She loves vines/ memes and attempts to incorporate social media into every single lecture. Reading responses are due every week, but they're a breeze. Assignments take longer but are equally interesting.
