He really cares about his students and wants to see them do well. He is really helpful after class and is great in office hours. No tests just vocab quizzes and essays. Essays are short but it really makes you think about what you write and formulate papers that are extremely clear. Would take him again and again! Great classes.

Professor Allen is a great lecturer, but his paper assignments are ridiculous. He expects us to condense everything into two page papers. First paper average was an 81%. I think the TAs are instructed to grade WAYYY too hard. The readings aren't really needed. Just go off his lectures and know real world examples. Easy vocab quizzes in section.

From start until finish, Dr. Allen will challenge and excite. He demonstrates exemplary knowledge on the subject, and structures the class with two tests, and a two page paper. This is, without a doubt in my mind, fair beyond measure, and it was a pleasure to speak to him during office hours, where many of my most burning questions were answered.

Pol s 6 was a decent class. Your grade is only based on 5 papers, a final, and section participation. Going to the lectures isn't necessary and the papers aren't hard to write but, they are 50% of your grade so hopefully you get a cool ta. He assigns a lot of reading but you don't have to really read anything besides what the essay topic is on.

This professor honestly made me question whether or not I should teach. Didnt like him, an luckily I had a good TA. If you are really into political science youll do well, however his lectures are boring and no matter what when he calls on you for a question, he will say, not quite and go on to state exactly what you said as the right answer.

Great class. Great professor. Very knowledgable of all things political science. You know exactly what is expected of you from day one.

He went over every single thing you need to know in lecture. As long as you pay attention in class and study/make flashcards based on your notes you shouldn't even have to read the textbook. There were weekly papers with a strict grading criteria, but they were short and as long as you stick to the rubric you should be fine.

Geoff is a super smart guy who is very passionate about teaching. His class is very hard and does require a good deal of effort, but he definitely prepares you for other Poly Sci courses. Overall I really enjoyed his teaching style and hope I have him as a professor in the future.

He is very knowledgeable of the international relations subject.
